I visit lots of facilities in the IE. Im a contracted exercise specialist going place to place and spending time with residents of all types. Independent living, assisted living as well as memory care. Brightwater is on my list of top 3. The residents are happy and well cared for. The building is clean and maintained above average. The staff is friendly and helpful. It may seem simple but in my experience you will not find many places that you will feel comfortable moving your loved one to.

We looked at many places before deciding on Brightwater. At our tour Chelsea made us feel at home, and we were struck by the friendliness and the welcoming feeling from all the staff we encountered. Communication continued to be prompt and professional throughout our moving process. My mom had been extremely reluctant to move from her home into assisted living, and we were nervous that she would not thrive. She moved in two weeks ago. Within two days she was brighter, more engaged, and happier than she’d been in several years living alone. The staff is kind, engaging, and with each visit it becomes more clear they know all the residents well. I’m sitting in one of the lovely common areas of Brightwater as I write this. I came to visit my mom, but she was busy with an art class when I arrived. So as I wait for her to finish, I’ve chosen to write this review. Then I’ll squeeze in a visit before she goes off to happy hour. Happy indeed. Thank you Brightwater and all of the staff who have made us all feel like we landed in the right spot (Chelsea, Cassandra, Linda, Felicia, Ashley, Monica, Dominique, Enrique, and so many others whose smiles and greetings have not yet been coupled with names). Everyone has treated her not like a fading star, but like the interesting and independent individual she was when she was their age.

Even though my parents decided on another location in another town, Brightwater is a very nice facility. I am the son of the couple looking for assisted living and memory care so I started this search and got the first couple tours. Chelsea was in charge of the tours and presenting pricing etc. to me/us. She did an outstanding job, is very educated on the facility, is a great salesperson, and also appears to be a great friend to everyone who lives there. There was no pressure and she was able to answer any questions. She even came in on a Sunday when that was the only day for my Dad to see the place. My parents are relocating from another state which made this all the more difficult, and Brightwater and Chelsea in particular really helped us out.

My friend, Gene came to Brightwater while it was still being built. He fell in love with the community and staff and cannot wait to move in. Gene had me check frequently to see when he can move in. As soon as he was able to move-in, Mick and I move him at Brightwater. He was happy then, he is happier now. He's been in Brightwater for 2 years and he loves it. I come to visit him and occasionally have lunch with him. The food servers are polite and courteous, food is great. Today, I checked on Gene and as always the nursing staff constantly check on him. Care is excellent! I interact with Jennifer Lee the Executive Director on a regular basis and I would say that Brightwater cannot hire a better Executive Director than Jennifer!!! If anyone is looking for a place for their love one, Brightwater is THE place.

My siblings and I moved our mother into Brightwater Senior Living of Highland last October 2015. Our mother was extremely reluctant to move into an assisted living facility. She wanted to live in her own home, however, that wasn't possible anymore after a fall and her doctor told us she should not live alone anymore. We anticipated we would have a very difficult time with our mother adjusting to these new living arrangements. We were completely surprised that it was just the opposite. She never asked once to go back home. She really enjoyed it from the beginning!. Brightwater is a beautiful, extremely well maintained community, and it is ran by the most caring, friendly and engaged staff I have ever seen. I live in Highland, so I could be there every day and got to know the entire staff and witnessed the loving relationships that the staff has with the residents. They truly care about their residents. Finding the right living arrangements for aging parents is a stressful task. We all worry and want to make sure our parents are being well taken care of in a loving environment. We worry that when we are not with our parents, are they being treated with dignity and respect. I can tell you at Brightwater there is no question. They are in a safe and secure community, well cared for, and the staff is engaged with the residents as if they were family. They have many activities within Brightwater that residents can take advantage of and are much encouraged to, a movie theater, a beautiful dining room with a baby grand piano, that my mother loved to play and outings to local stores and activities. If you are in need of a senior community for an aging parent, I encourage you to take a tour of Brightwater. You won't be disappointed!
