Village Green Senior Living of West Seattle

If I can describe Village Green in West Seattle and its employees in one word it would be, FAMILY. Our father hesitated to sell and move out of his home that he built and was in for forty plus years. He was in his late 70’s and was very independent in his day to day function. We convinced him to move into the Village Green’s (then called Day Star) 55yo and over apartments (bldg #1). Once there, he loved the secured building and its proximity (across the street) to the bank, Starbucks, grocery store, Target and 24hr Fitness as he had Silver Sneaker benefits. He was welcomed in by other tenants/residents and employees and it didn’t take long for him to feel at home. He enjoyed Village Green’s social activities such as group work outs, card games and field trips. He particularly enjoyed the trip to the Tulip Festival. As our father aged and progressively needed more and more assistance, we were fortunate enough to be able to move him in different care levels/buildings within the Village Green compound. He often spoke about how he loved the community there and that he felt secure and well cared for by his Village Green WS family. Thank you all for always going over and beyond for Dad. Our mom has been at Daystar for several years now. She loves the size of the place, the people are all so nice, and there is a warm feeling about the place. My sister and I have found the staff friendly and so helpful. Eva, Melodee and Corinne...we love you!

I have a relative that has been living here. What I've discovered is that the people determine the success of a retirement home. Boy, does Daystar have the best staff! Eva, the Executive Director, is one of the kindest, most caring people I know. She always tries to help, has a terrific relationship with my rellie, and is always available if I need a word. Melodee on the Front Desk is equally helpful, upbeat and loving. This is a special place!
