SummerHouse Alexandria - Level 3

The facility is clean, the staff are friendly and compassionate about making life at SummerHouse Alexandria a safe and fun place to be. I am thankful for all the administrative, nursing, dietary, housekeeping and maintenance personnel who take care of my loved one when I am not around. Dawna, Robert and Laken were especially helpful with Mom during the move-in process. The activities provided are numerous and varied. We especially liked the Friday afternoon tailgate party.

I was recently searching for the perfect home for my father when I came across SummerHouse. I knew when I walked in for a tour that this was different than most assisted living homes that I looked at. The staff were all awesome and the facilities were fantastic. More importantly you could tell that the residents really liked being there... they were all super friendly and welcoming. I have definitely found a home that my dad can enjoy.

I started looking for an assisted living place for my mom, who is moving to Louisiana from Pennsylvania. I contacted Dawna at SummerHouse in June and set up an appointment for a tour. We had been emailing back and forth until this time, and when I arrived for the tour, she greeted me with a hug. Everyone I met was very friendly. I loved SummerHouse! The place is clean and inviting. The activity calendar is filled with multiple activities. There is something going on every day. Dawna sent me two or three texts to check in on mom. prior to mom making her decision. It was not a "Is she coming" text; it was a genuine How are you and your mom doing? We made the decision for mom to live at SummerHouse. Dawna has done a great job coordinating with. my brother, who is in PA, and me, in LA. I am sure we have driven her a bit crazy. :) I am looking forward to spending time with my mom, and am glad that there was a place that exceeded my expectations.

My dad is a resident here and we have been very satisfied. There seems to be low staff turnover and everyone on staff has been professional and helpful. From what I have seen, residents are all treated with kindness and respect. Any questions I’ve had regarding policies, billing, etc have been addressed quickly and completely. Everyone in housekeeping, maintenance, nursing, admin and kitchen staff has been available to help dad if asked. If the person asked can’t help, they will find someone who can. We have experience with other facilities in Alexandria and Lake Charles and know that is not always the case. We would definitely recommend Summerhouse to people looking for a good assisted living facility.

I moved my mom from another AL facility two months ago to Summerhouse. It has been a good and pleasant move, from the first day I walked into the facility. A night and day experience, to say the least. Your staff are profession, and seem to want to go above and beyond in doing their jobs, unlike where we were before. The facility is really nice, clean and well kept up. I, for the first time in a while, trust my mother’s being cared for, as she should be. Please thank your staff!
