Primrose Pleasant Prairie is like a cruise ship on land or an all-inclusive resort for seniors. We fell in love with the community back when it was The Addison and are even more impressed since it was purchased by Primrose. The medical and wellness support is amazing (visiting PCPs, 24-hour nursing, on-site PT, telemedicine 24/7, etc.). The apartments are beautiful, modern, and well-maintained. The restaurant is a delight -- incredible food, incredible service, incredible selections. In presenting my uncle with the benefits of moving from his senior subdivision to Primrose, I wrote a 12-page document outlining the benefits of Primrose -- there are that many amenities and features when it comes to safety, security, medical access, social environment, dignity, and easy of living in a worry-free way. The residents are so happy and calm -- they all appear to be on a vacation. Primrose is an elite lifestyle and worth every penny. I can imagine many of us in our family eventually joining their community. (And as the daughter of a man with Alzheimer's, I truly appreciate their memory-care neighborhoods in addition to their assisted-living community.) The tour experience for my uncle (who was very skeptical about Primrose vs. going back to his house with expensive home-care support) was a wow. He said he was "very impressed" and we're not in the process of joining the community. What a VIP experience we received as a family during the fact-finding and decision-making process. I HIGHLY recommend Primrose for any senior, regardless of your interests, health challenges, or needs. They've got you covered.

I came to visit my grandmother a few days ago and I’ve never experienced such unprofessional behavior. My grandmother needed help so I found a caregiver “Raquel” and she was very disrespectful I asked her for help and she just looked at me in such a disrespectful way didn’t say anything and just walked away. I went to another caregiver and explained what happened and she said “oh that’s just her personality” very unprofessional!

The facility looks nice especially with all the remodeling they have done but don’t let that fool you. They should have spent some of those funds to get more qualified staffing. They had a lot of turnover in just the 5 months my mom was there. I moved my mom out after being there for just 5 months. For 9 weeks in row her wash wasn’t getting done(which is included in the monthly fee) without my mom constantly asking them to do it and after I had 3 meetings with the executive director and head of nursing who is in charge of the employees who are supposed to do it. This may seem like a minor issue but was very stressful for my mom. I ran into a resident in the hall one morning looking for someone to give her meds. Another day one resident was pushing another resident back to their room after lunch because they couldn’t find a staff member to do it. I asked the head of nursing when was the last time my mom’s vitals were taken. She looked on the computer and couldn’t find any records. She asked if my mom was having a problem. I said no, but according to the documents my mom signed when she moved in they are supposed to be taken monthly. The director of nursing and the executive director weren’t aware of this. In fact, the executive director asked if I could bring her a copy of the page showing that. One day they ran out of clean soup spoons, really, someone couldn’t wash more. One evening the front doors were locked and the gentleman had to call 4 times to get into the building. I didn’t want to let him in since I didn’t know who he was but later we spoke he said he was going to be moving his mom out because of the lack of care and the rising cost Some of these might seem like minor issues, but if they can’t handle these how could I count on them when my mom needed more care.

The executive director here “KIM” is very rude and dismissive to all your family members needs. Not only that but the care staff is very unhelpful to all your families they don’t do anything to ever assist and help them and not any off the staff there cares don’t send your family’s to this unprofessional retirement community they have construction going on right where all your families eat, having there food contaminated on many occasions and not caring for there health! I have watched many residents distraught over not having any care in that place having to wait hours to get changed or have someone check on them when they need them and are pressing buttons and calling for help.. very disheartening.

The Addison looks beautiful on the outside but the inside is terrible…Tanya the ED there is very prejudice to the black women when I honestly think they take care of the residents the best. She doesn’t give them enough credit for the work they do but I am here to tell you ladies you all do a good job taking care of the residents also the food there is trash the residents in AL have better menu options. Hopefully the new company changes some things around starting with Tanya treating employees equally.I will be glad to meet the new HR to let them know the real and hopefully they’ll understand how employees feel and not brush things under the rug like Tanya.
