I am giving them a great review. However, my mom is not going there only because they do not accept the Medicaid waiver program. Totally bummed about that. If you’re going for a tour with one or both of your parents, ask for Brandy. She is very knowledgeable and very nice. The place itself is very nice. It’s very reasonably priced from what I’ve seen as I toured several others. During our tour, everyone working and living there seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves.

If you love your family member do not leave them with these people. Beautiful facility horrid care. If I could give them negative stars I would. It is scary how bad the administration and nursing staff is. Check to make sure your loved ones are getting their meds if you do leave them here. These people are so dysfunctional it’s scary they are allowed to care for elders.

Please do not trust Wellspring Assisted Living to care for your loved one. The administrative staff are kind and informative but their medical staff are, to put it mildly, negligent. They did not provide a critical medication to our loved one for 5 days! We started calling Nurse Amanda after 3 days when we noticed something was very wrong and took our loved one to the doctor and for blood work to confirm what was happening. Two days later, after multiple messages and in person requests to speak to someone with no response, our loved one had to be hospitalized. She passed away a few weeks later. Yes, she had other health issues but being hospitalized back to back can take a serious toll on a person and they often cannot recover. When I finally spoke to Nurse Amanda (a week later) her response was as if this is all common place at Wellspring. She said "Oh, it looks like the medicine wasn't sent by the pharmacy. Sorry about that they usually tell me when something doesn't come in". Her apology was not genuine and I had to argue with her to tell me how long it had been since the medication was received. I understand these things can happen with medication refills. If they would have let us know she was not getting a critical medication or even returned one of our calls we could have prevented this. No one at Wellspring contacted us to see how she was doing, no apology, no steps to ensure this doesn't happen again. We paid six weeks in advance, over $8,000 and she was there for a total of 8 days. They never offered to work with us to refund any money or anything. Again, the feeling I got from everyone was this happens all the time. I have been where you are now, reading reviews and taking tours. Trust me when I say Wellspring is not the place you are looking for. Symphony Tri-Cities were amazing, our loved one passed away there. They suffer staffing shortages like all of these facilities do but they actually care about their patients and their families. The Symphony care team is amazing! Two other places we toured that I would recommend - Winter Village in Frankenmuth. They had a cool facility and the best activity calendar by far. We were concerned our loved one wasn't independent enough to stay there but it was a nice place. Also, Charter Senior Living in Bay City. That place had a very serene energy, it was beautiful and the residents there were by far the happiest we saw during our six tours. Unfortunately there were no rooms available when we needed residence. I can't speak to the medical staff because we didn't stay there but I wished many times that we had chosen one of them.

If I could leave negative stars I would. Do not put your loved one at Wellspring Lutheran Services Assisted Living in Saginaw. ***HEED THIS WARNING*** Slow response times for residents (sometimes no response at all), dropped multiple residents medications and overall resident neglect. Neglect included: forgetting to feed resident, change briefs, wouldn’t take resident to the bathroom when requested, forgot to put resident to bed, forgot to give breathing treatments & meds, dropped the resident on the floor and didn’t report it. Significantly raised the rent within a couple months of moving in! The management team needs to be completely replaced along with a good portion of the caregivers.
