My beloved husband stayed at the Hiller home for 2 years. This was soooo much better than a traditional nursing home, in so many ways, that it would be impossible to list. Believe me when I say that with their care and loving staff that he lived far better and longer than would have been possible anywhere else - and, I have lots of experience w/other places. I will be forever grateful that I found Ahava + Claude, Daniella & staff - both our lives were enriched! Thank you.

The place looks beautiful, but once you get to know the owner you see he lies and only cares about money, make sure to Confirm that license reflects approved residents to be cared for. At times they have number patients over state approved license.

My dad was a resident at Ahava from September 2017 until his death in February 2018 at the age of 92. Dad lived independently at a senior citizen apartment building before then. His health declined quickly in the summer of 2017. While cognitively intact, he was not able to care for himself. He required 24 hour care. We looked at assisted living but didn’t feel it was the right option for him. We were aware that senior group homes existed in the community but did not know of any specific ones. Through my work, I knew of a company that assisted people in placement into group homes. We were given three homes to look at. While clean and friendly, none felt like a place where dad would feel comfortable. A friend told us about a place in West Bloomfield called Ahava. She knew of someone who’s mom lived there. My sister and I made an appointment to see the house. The minute we walked into Ahava we knew it was the place for dad. We were greeted by Claude, the owner. He introduced us to the other caregivers and to the residents. We never looked back. The house is beautiful. It is clean, decorated beautifully and spacious. Dad had a private room, filled with his personal belongings. Ahava provided the bed, laundry, 24/7 care, dispensing of medications, emergency bell, three meals a day plus snacks, doctor and nurse attention (when needed), cable tv and actually everything our dad could want or need. Dad could interact with the other residents as much as he wanted or keep to himself. Ahava was right on top of any physical changes in dad and assisted in his obtaining medical attention. Claude was accessible to us at all times and made every effort to stay connected with my dad. He consistently asked him what he needed and wanted and always came through. Ahava has a special place in my heart. They cared for my dad like he was family. He was happy. What more can you ask for? Lori Glick
