About a year ago, my wife Lisa and I moved into Alderman Oaks in Sarasota, and we both agree it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. The caring staff is truly amazing. They treat everyone like family, and it’s clear this isn’t just a job for them — it’s a calling. Many of the staff members have been here for years and years, which says a great deal about the leadership and management, especially in an industry known for high turnover. What’s especially special is the sense of community. The residents genuinely become like extended family, and the overall atmosphere feels more like a boutique bed-and-breakfast than a typical senior living community. The downtown Sarasota location is ideal. Between the field trips, Lunch Bunch outings, and easy access to everything the city has to offer, it couldn’t be better. Add to that the first-rate weekly live entertainment, and it truly is the frosting on the cake. We are grateful every day to call Alderman Oaks home.

Alderman Oaks feels like family the second you take in the surroundings in the parking lot. some nice nature-inspired outside sitting areas for residents. Warm, genuine staff - Independent living on floors one and three, assisted on the second. Events and outings feel thoughtful, and planned with heart not just scheduled. I heard the neighborhood Christmas Lights evening was super too. a real blessing to see my parents enjoy this Alderman Oaks part of their lives! I wholeheartedly recommend if you are looking for one or both of your parents to be in a real senior living experience home; not just a 'facility' - consider showing them the option of Alderman Oaks, Sarasota. My elderly mother lived happily at Alderman Oaks Senior Facility for nearly 6 years. She resided mainly on the Independent floor, but also on the Assisted Living floor when more care was required. This facility is locally owned and operated. You can talk to the staff onsite daily and get your questions answered. Alderman Oaks has a very home-like feel, with about 60 rooms, the residents know and enjoy each other. There are several activities to choose from daily. It is important to note, that the food is exceptional!! High compliments to their chef to serve delicious home-made meals daily, along with home baked desserts too! The staff all know the residents, and excel in making them comfortable. Many of the staff have worked here for over 15-20 years! That's a great compliment to the care! There are a variety of room styles to choose from. The downtown Sarasota location is great for those who still drive or walk. I strongly encourage you to schedule a personal visit to Alderman Oaks to visit yourself or with your family. It is a wise decision to consider having your loved one live here.

My mom has lived at Alderman Oaks for two years, and we couldn't be happier! It's a beautiful independent and assisted living community right in downtown Sarasota. One of the best things about Alderman Oaks is that is offers a rental program instead of a buy-in, which was perfect for my mom's situation and probably would be for many others as well. The staff are truly special - most have been there since the facility opened many years ago and that in itself says something. They genuinely care for the residents. They're friendly, professional, and treat everyone with respect. You can tell they love what they do. There's always something going on - daily activities, lunch outings, live musical entertainment, outdoor concerts, educational programs, beautiful outdoor gardens for residents to enjoy and plenty of social gatherings. My mom is very involved in many of the activities they offer and she is just so happy she moved here. My mom loves people, and she's made so many wonderful friends that truly have become family to her. The facility itself is spotless, welcoming, and very well cared for. They offer housekeeping, laundry facilities, and delicious healthy meals. Wonderful desserts too! I enjoy joining mom for lunch. If you're looking for a caring, vibrant, and beautifully run community in Sarasota for yourself or a loved one, I highly recommend Alderman Oaks.

After my father passed away, my mother moved to Alderman Oaks Retirement Center, where she lived in Independent Living for several years. From the very beginning, she was so happy there. My mom was a very social person, and Alderman provided so many wonderful activities that truly suited her personality and spirit. She was both an artist and a musician, and it brought her great joy to share her talents — she could often be heard playing the piano for other residents. After several years, as her needs changed, she moved to the Assisted Living floor, where she continued to thrive. She especially looked forward to Thursday evening social hour with live music and dancing — she was always the life of the party, singing, dancing, and bringing smiles to everyone around her. When her memory began to decline, we very sadly had to move her to a memory care facility. She missed all her friends and the caring staff at Alderman deeply — it had truly become her home. Now, as I care for my husband following his stroke, I once again find comfort in Alderman Oaks. We are planning for him to stay there for respite care, and I know he will be in excellent hands. Alderman Oaks is a special place — warm, welcoming, and filled with people who truly care. They not only provided a wonderful home for my mother but continue to give me peace of mind knowing my loved ones are well cared for. Susan Beausang
