AMBER LAKE ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY

I have been a resident of Amber Lake ALF for over two years. I highly recommend Amber Lake for anyone who needs an assisted living facility for either themselves or a family member. The administration and staff are very caring and helpful. Our facilities Are extremely clean. We have housekeeping services seven days a week, both in our rooms and the rest of the building. I would be a miss if I didn’t mention the wonderful food service we have. Our two primary cooks are excellent both in the variety of meals they prepare and how wonderful they taste. I am so thankful that my daughter chose this facility for me to reside in. I have a physical condition that makes it so I can no longer live alone and I need assistance with my medication and certain physical tasks. The staff here are very caring and helpful. Amber Lake is also a memory care facility, and staff are particularly sensitive with our memory care residents. The majority of the residents speak Spanish, although some are bilingual. I am one of The English only speakers, But I’m trying to learn Spanish. I Don’t want to neglect mentioning our administration. Our head administrator and assistant Administrator are both excellent. They are very understanding and take care of issues as they come up with grace and speed. We are fortunate to have them both. We also have an activities director who is at the facility several days a week and she does many activities with the residents.

I have visited a plethora of times and this place is warm and caring. Super clean. Marelin Cabrera and Edith are exceptional and truly care.

My mother has been living at Amberlake for a month now and we visit her everyday; the place is like a cheap motel. It is kept clean and some of the staff are professional and the Director Edith Muniz is cordial. There is no place for visitors to sit ; you have to sit among the residents which can very annoying. We bring food and snacks for my mother and the residents hang all over you. The food menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner is scant. There are no activities for the residents except for a tv with same game show everyday. We have witnessed one birthday party and prom party and from time to time four of the residents playing dominoes and a prayer service on Saturday afternoon. Today, October 12, 2024 my husband and I went to visit and as we had nowhere to sit, my husband took a seat at the domino table and was approached by Michele, the Assistant in a belligerent manner "get off the table." He took exception to her approached and told her so. She said she we were told not to sit at other times but we were never told that. Michelle and the other staff member Justina told us to bring our own chair. If you have to place your love one in a facility let this one be your last resort.

I would just like to say that I visited my mother a day ago and the staff are wonderful and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone who is considering placing their loved ones in a facility. Also, the facility and the rooms are very clean!
