Mom moved into Estrella Gardens Feb, 2021. The minute I drove thru the gates, I knew mom mother would love Ammy's Place with surrounding views of the mountains and cacti. There is an amazing water feature in front of the beautiful home surrounded by lush landscaping. Once you enter the home you experience a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I am a nurse and was an assisted living manager numerous years ago. I knew what I was looking for in my mother's new home and I found it at Ammy's Place. They follow COVID guidelines and adhere to state guidelines in caring for the residents trusted in their care. Kathy and Tom, the owners, go above and beyond and administer to every aspect of my mother's care. Not only the physical, they provide music therapy, chair exercise, dinner trivia (cognitive therapy) and they also have a hair dresser who comes to the home once a week. The home has an open floorplan with soaring ceilings, with windows and sliding doors overlooking a garden paradise in the enclosed back yard. There is a wraparound back covered patio with clustered seating to encourage socialization. The back yard has a putting green, gazebo, pathways throughout the back yard and numerous fruit trees. My boys and I picked oranges, lemons and grapefruit with my mother directing the whole process!!! My mother has blossomed physically and mentally under the loving care of Tom, Kathy and their staff. Every holiday is celebrated with fun, colorful activities and the residents are involved in every aspect. I can not say enough about Estrella Gardens-my mother is proof positive of what loving care can do for a loved one.

I was very lucky my mother lived to age 94 and still lived at home. I would have had my mom live here. My brother in law is living there and he is receiving the best care possible. He is smiling and playing the "drums and singing", so wonderful to see him happy and eating correctly and taking his meds on time. My niece and her husband visit often, and their dad is happy with all of their visits. It is a home away from home, filled with loving care and quality staff. A good friend of mine needed placement in an Assisted Living Home a few months ago. I toured several homes and I knew my search was over when I met Kathy at Estrella Gardens. Ammy’s Place has been a wonderful unexpected find in an Assisted Living Home for my mother in law who is 96 years of age and requires assistance for every need of daily living. Finding this home has brought our family peace of mind in that we feel confident that mom is getting the best care and attention possible. She has expressed that she is happy, enjoys the meals, and the caregivers are great and attentive to her needs. The owner/manager, a registered nurse, is a very caring person and it is obvious to me that she enjoys elder care and wants to provide a safe and loving home for those under her care. The home is beautiful, spacious, and has lovely outdoor patios and gardens for the residents and families. Fun activities are provided for the residents related to their interests. I just can’t say enough about the care and those operating Ammy’s Place (Estrella Gardens).

Ammy's Place of Estrella Gardens has been a godsend for my Mother as well as me and my family. Managed by Kathy Knudson, an experienced registered nurse along with her assistants, the level of care provided my Mom is exceptional, especially when considering Mom's 96 and wheel chair bound. I haven't seen Mom so happy, content, and intellectually lively in some time. Ammy's Place is new, fresh; the interior (rooms, kitchen, service areas are immaculate) and the outside areas are well groomed and inviting, especially this time of year when Arizona is a real comfortable place to enjoy the outdoors. According to Mom, the meals are delicious and healthful. Plus the extracurricular activities have really sparked an interest in Mom to get involved and participate. What a refreshing change from where she was at before. Bottom line I along with my (and Mom's) family truly believe Ammy's Place is a top notch FIVE STAR assisted living facility providing the care that much more expensive assisted living homes provide. Said another way, Kathy Knudson and her team provide the kind of care seldom encountered anywhere else for the cost of this wonderful home and dedicated to those love ones needing twenty-four hour care.
