Mom's first nursing home was not very good. I mentioned that we were moving her because the new place offered a type of care unavailable at the first place. A nurse there said, "The grass is always greener...". Not only was it greener at Skylines, there was a whole meadow of "trees", "flowers", "sunshine", etc. Everyone was kind, caring and loving toward Mom. Skylines deserves a six on a scale of 1-5! Mom was moved to a different floor after the first month. The original CNAs would still smile and say hello as we passed in the hall. When Mom's health left her pretty much "out of it" Julie from Activities still stopped in to spend a couple of minutes with Mom. All administrative personnel were caring and professional. They were very attentive to any concerns brought to their attention. Even Laundry and Housekeeping staff were personable. How many places will a housekeeper express condolences with a genuine hug despite never having talked to the deceased or having not met family? Skylines has that kind of staff.

We moved my mother from another facility due to poor care she and my family were receiving) to AC Skylines. As my sister and I were leaving the former facility, my mom's nurse commented that "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." She knew I was not happy as I had reported her several times to management. Well, not only was the grass the greenest grass on the other side of the fence, we found a whole meadow with trees, flowers, and the warmest sun. Every staff member we passed gave us a warm hello even if they were not providing direct care to my mother. For those providing direct care, they not only cared for and loved my mother, but they provided care and love to me and my sister. If there is such a place as heaven on earth, this is it and I am not exaggerating.

Mom's been there only a few days (3/4/2022), but the care she has received and the staff friendliness are outstanding. The admittance process wasn't just an intake. It was a thorough physical exam with P.T. also doing an assessment. She was even given a TB test! It's also nice she has the same (full-time) CNAs daily, no switching of part timers. All of the staff really wants to get to know her and her family, including the Activities Director!
