MARSH AT NORTH CHARLESTON

Thankful is an understatement, as a Retired Fire Fighter Medic that has seen tons of stuff in my time I was not prepared for looking for a place for my mom. I was very emotional as I know that means it’s the last stop. I placed my mom in a place prior to the marsh and she was so upset , I was getting phone calls all the time her crying and scared, and she had to share a room with people who were scaring her, staff was always sitting around and not monitoring people who were walking without walkers that needed it, residents were dirty and always in the same clothes. I had to move my mom from that environment. Biggest and best decision ever. I could name so many people who work at The Marsh that I am thankful for but , don’t want to leave anyone out The employees are so caring, there’s no turnover there ( always my same girls) , my mom is so happy and participates in the activities now. . I love that they care and are always interacting with the residents and offering to help My mom fell and broke her femur and is in rehab( and has dementia) but, my mom has been crying to go back and is able to name some of the employees from The Marsh.. I feel comfortable and welcomed every time I come to visit, if I have a question they get back to me right away, I have recieved numerous phone calls them checking on my mom to see how she’s doing and they have already prepared to have my mom return on Monday . I will thank Mrs Miranda as she set up physical therapy for her to have help when she returns, has called me to see how she’s doing and has handled everything from the minute of her injury. I don’t have to even think. They are two steps in front of me I work for a private Fire Department so I am still a little busy but my mom is so entertained and loving it there that sometimes I have to call her to check in… what a difference in my mom being there I know everyday is not peaches and cream for the employees as the residents can be a bit much🙈but , I see and hear how they treat them ,and that’s with love and kindness as they handle it very well. . I have referred numerous people to them( why not share the love) but, I know if some of the people at my moms old place didn’t take the step in faith with me to move our family members some wouldn’t be alive.. I know that for a fact. I want to say thank you to each and everyone of the employees at this place for making this “home “for my mom. I will be forever grateful for you all as I’m sure you don’t get enough thank you’s… Thank you, thank you, thank you Patty stanton

The Marsh at North Charleston was an answer to my prayers. My mom was struggling at a former facility and someone told me to check out the Marsh. In the last 8 months she is eating well, starting to talk again, and is so happy. The staff take such good care of her. Not just her physical needs but also emotionally. It is amazing how spending time, talking and respecting someone can make a difference. The new director and management are terrific and doing a great job also. I would recommend The Marsh if you’re looking for a great place for you loved one.

Don't EVER put a loved one here. My husband died there. His phone was stolen. His laundry basket was overflowing with urine stained bedding and clothing I was forced to just throw these items out. I've placed more calls than I can count to the executive director and she has not returned a single one. They are all smiles when you sign up but heaven forbid you need to reach them after you sign the check.

My mom moved in as soon as The Marsh opened. I can't express how comforting it is for us to observe the love and care she's been receiving. The management team is amazing- they work diligently to ensure that policies are followed and residents are treated with respect. The staff are kind and attentive. Thank you so much!
