Assisted Living At Hartsfield Village

This facility is horrible! My mom has only been at the rehabilitation center for only a couple of weeks and she is in a worse state than she was before arriving. I have witnessed some terrible care. The aids, as well as the nurses speaks to the residence in a very distasteful manner, especially when no one as far as family is present. Myself and my sister has utilized the call lights for assistance with my mom either having her briefs changed or being escorted to the restroom and every single time we’ve waited for at minimum 30 minutes for someone to assist. It has been times that we have changed her brief ourselves and she would also have to pull them off and change them HERSELF or just try and wipe herself down because no one comes. We can tell from the feces on the wipes and on the sides of her bed from her trying to pull herself up. The residents are never encouraged to get up out their beds and walk to the restroom, WITH assistance. I have actually witnessed aids, telling the residents to defecate or urinate in the briefs because “ that’s what they are for”….. During the majority of the day, they are either lying in bed or placed in front of a television for hours at a time. The aids are never helping with them walking or doing any movements at all actually. Isn’t this what a REHABILITATION facility is for? Our mom’s condition is much worse than it was prior to her arrival at this place. She can barely walk or stand now. Her legs are weaker because she never really uses them. Her skin is ALWAYS DRY until we come to oil her down. She has also barely had any showers there. My sister and I will have to go up there and bathe her in the restroom in her shared room because she stinks so bad from sitting in her own feces or being improperly cleaned and not showered. ALSO, even after requested , her hair was never done. We are truly disappointed in the lack of compassion and respect for the residents. It has been displeasing to see. I hate to see the state that she’s in now. I hate having to go there just to micromanage the staff, because if you don’t you will surely know that NOTHING is being done. If I could give no stars, I certainly would. Horrible!!!! Do not put your loved ones through this kind of treatment. This is NOT A PLACE OF CARE.

Horrible. I’m out of State, have to listen to mom crying every night that she has to wait over an hour to go to the bathroom. I come in every weekend to see the oblivious “staff” texting on their phones , chit chatting….ignoring pleas from residents. This place is a horror.

Both of our parents were at Hartsfield. Actually, our mom is still there. Our dad passed away 2 weeks ago. The staff at Hartsfield were so kind and compassionate with our dad. In fact, the staff brought my mom flowers after he passed away. From the therapists to the front desk to everyone on the floor, we could not be happier. Having to make tough decisions about the care of your parents is not easy. I would highly recommend Hartsfield.

This is a wonderful place to live and/or get rehab care. The staff is so compassionate and caring. You really get a family feel from everyone there!
