My brother is a resident here for two years now and based on his development, I can say that they're doing a great job, thanks to husband and wife team Winston and Claire. My brother looks so happy in this facility. His contentment is shown in his face. He's now smiling and feels so much at home. I read about one comment here about food and I wonder if she's referring to this particular facility because the food prepared here are well planned and to the delight of the residents. Run by caring caregivers, this facility has definitely a family environment. I give them five stars.

Under new management. Winston and Claire are the new owners of the facility. We visited them a few months ago while touring AZ. We were able to visit the facility several times. The place is clean and well organized. We observed that the staff are well trained and very professional. The residents seem to be happy and well taken cared for. The location is very ideal. Very near establishments.

Visited recently! I noticed how residents feel at ease with a sense of community inside the facility. The staff gladly provides your loved ones assistance with personal care, mobility, and other needs. This is the best place for long-term care! You’ll truly feel at home :)

My mother lived here for a short time before passing, but it was a constant revolving door of staff. Clearly turnover is a major issue. Terrible, cheap, over-processed food (mostly frozen food) that she wouldn't even eat, so I had to bring in a small fridge and bring her dinner as often as I could. And when she passed, they texted me the notification. TEXTED!! It wasn't even worth a phone call??? Unbelievable. She had lain in her bed all night with nobody noticing she passed away after dinner, which tells me there is little attention given to residents during the night since it was extremely obvious she was dead. Or they noticed and just let her body lay there all night, waiting until morning? She was in full rigor when I got there that morning, so she had been dead for a long time (according to hospice). Adding fuel to my anger, they were so eager to clear out the room that they were carrying stuff to my car before her body was even taken away, including carrying her minifridge sideways with such haste that nothing was taken out of it, liquid spilling all over the place. Seriously ridiculous. The staff was obviously terrified of her body, so I'm guessing inexperience was an issue? Who knows. This place keeps the last month's payment in full, no prorating, even if the resident passes away a few days after payment. Her stuff could have stayed there for a week or two, since the room was paid for another few weeks, instead of having me take it away immediately, before I'd even had a chance to react to her passing away. This place is SO NOT PROFESSIONAL. The owners seemed awesome during the initial tour, but I never saw them again. Until I got a text. This happened over a year ago, but I'm still so angry I finally had to post this review to just let it go. Maybe it's improved since my mother's passing, but Kierland "Care" Assisted Living has a LOT of room for improvement. Decent food with less sugar and sodium, better treatment of staff to keep the good ones from leaving, and staff training to show a little sensitivity to families of the deceased and improve their own internal processes would be great.
