I initially took a tour of the memory care portion of the facility with Teresa. She was terrific. She was compassionate and very knowledgeable not only about all the facility had to offer but also the various nuances of moving a spouse into memory care. The care staff are wonderful, pleasant and easy to work with. Most of them have a good sense of humor. They are always trying to be helpful. I am comforted knowing that my wife is well cared for in this facility.

I’ve been living here at Atria for four months and I can honestly say this place has saved my life. The staff is friendly and attentive. Everyone has been kind and courteous, and consistently looking to see where they can help. The food program provides fresh and delicious options for every meal. I am so grateful to have access to balanced nutrition every day now and no longer trying to figure out grocery shopping and cooking. The wait staff is so friendly know the residents like family. I also appreciate that the chefs come out to check on the meals and collect feedback. The front desk staff has also treated my guests so kindly. My family and friends feel confident about the care I receive here. I highly recommend Atria Walnut Creek if you are looking for great independent living for yourself or your loved one. The location is also a bonus! It is quiet and peaceful with convenient access to shopping and hospitals.

I went on a tour at the facility and it seems okay. Definitely for individuals that are independent, I wouldn't recommend it for someone looking for assisted living. It's very large and doesn't have that warm feeling that most assisted living have. This is an independent living facility with food included and you can add on more care if needed. If you want assisted living, try Atria Lafayette. As of November 2025 a basic studio apartment was about $4000/month with a community fee the same as the rent. The medication fee was $625-$825 month. Level 1 personal care rates for up to 3.5 hours/week were $855/month (this fee can increase up to level 6 at $5130/month for 21 hours a week for care). The rent has increased from 9%-11% each year for the past three years. When you call/visit make sure you ask about all the fees: Room, Medication, Community Fee, Care Fees, and fee increases per year. Also ask if there are any other fees, they are not always transparent about all the fees you will incur.

Atria Walnut Creek is where my aunt was living for the last 3 years. She had lots of friends there and seemed happy. The trouble started when she became ill and was in the hospital. The staff entered her apartment several times without permission and items were moved. They tried to get into the safe, moving towels and shoes out of the way and leaving evidence someone had been inside. Then, when my aunt passed away, the staff came in overnight and took a printer, a cabinet from the wall in the bathroom, a tall chest of drawers, food and clothing without permission. When I sent emails to the administration, then claimed that I had given the staff permission to take the items. Which was untrue. Then the administration offered to have the items returned. This implied to me that the administration knew who took the items. When I called the Walnut Creek Police, the officer who responded said that they are often called to Atria Walnut Creek for theft of jewelry and other items. I thought my aunt was safe at Atria Walnut Creek, but in the end, people were in and out of her room without permission and her personal items were looted. T

I have visited Atria Walnut Creek twice. It is my number one choice for my mother. Paulina Morales, our community sales associate, has excellent customer service and communication skills. She is a tremendous asset to the Atria community. Atria has a homey and welcoming environment. The residents are happy and super friendly. The food served in the dining room is top notch and the apartments are nicely appointed. And best of all, Mom sees herself living here. We are so pleased with our experience. I have struggled to find a senior living community that checks all of the boxes for Mom. Atria Walnut Creek is that community.
