When it came time to find a new home for my sweet mama, I promised myself I would spare no expense. I wanted her final chapter to be lived in comfort, dignity, and surrounded by love. Auburn Hill Assisted Living gave us exactly that. From the moment she arrived, the staff treated her like family. They were kind, patient, and attentive — not just to her needs, but to her heart. There was a genuine warmth there that you simply can’t put a price on. Her room overlooked the lake, and one of her greatest joys was sitting by the window watching the geese glide across the water. Those peaceful moments meant everything to her — and to me. Knowing she was safe, cared for, and living in such a beautiful, calm environment brought our family great comfort during a very tender season. If you are looking for a place where your loved one will be treated with compassion, respect, and true care, I am deeply grateful for the love Auburn Hill showed my mama in her final days. They didn’t just provide a place to live — they gave her peace, and they gave our family reassurance when we needed it most. Sincerely, Johnn

Auburn Hill turned out to be a great place for my dad. He was not happy about going to an Assisted Living Facility but everyone has made him feel welcomed and has helped him adjust. They check on him all the time and make sure he gets everything he needs. The facility is absolutely beautiful and staff is so friendly. I think we made the right choice for him. There is so much for residents to participate in and outings to go on.

My mother was a Resident at Auburn Hill June 2022 to January 2024. I reluctantly give Auburn Hill even one star, so I can submit my Post. On January 22, 2024, I received a call from a local Hospital at 7:00PM from a Nurse in the Emergency Room. Apparently she has been there since 2:30. Buried in my Messages , I had been contacted by the staff, saying she had been transported, but she was probably okay. My 94 year old mother, was suppose to be getting Level 3 Care, which she was paying extra for to ensure she got the best care. I was the Emergency Contact! They didn’t try to contact me and actually talk with me . A voice Mail only?! When I got to the Hospital, my mom still had her alert system around her Neck and she asked why didn’t they come and help me? She was ill on January 21st and that night she had soiled herself, tried to get out of bed , but was too weak. She tried getting a response all night. No one came. It gets worse. The next day, while still with my mom, my wife went to Auburn Hills. When she got to her room, her bed was soiled and there many areas covered with Feces, as she tried to get to the Bathroom. Management was notified and pictures were taken . The floor staff said they stuck their head just inside the door different times, saying with no response, until the 3rd time they heard a faint voice. It was my mom sitting in the floor in her own feces. A person with level 3 care and only sticking your head inside, not investigating. On January 26th, my mom passed away with Pneumonia and Sepsis. Did the delays and lack of protocol impact the situation. I do not know, but my mom had entrusted me to ensure she was cared for! Oh and while I knew the time line for cleaning out her Apt, they stuck to the 7 days , with a prorated charge for everyday over the 7. I notified them immediately in order to stop the Fees for the next month. Management said we will take of that for you. Nope!!! The fees came out of my mom right on the 1st of February. It took me almost two months to have my mom’s account reimbursed, minus the charges for not having her things out in 7 days. This case was documented through the State of Virginia and we were interviewed. I hope anyone reading this, gets better care for a loved one than we did.

I have 2 elderly family members that have lived at Auburn Hill for a number of years in Assisted Living. They love having their own apartments that provide adequate space, privacy and comfortable living for them. The staff is always friendly, caring and compassionate towards them and their needs. The staff are friendly and always greet family members that come to visit as well. The administration at Auburn Hill has always been available to meet or chat with us when needed. They are willing to work to address any changes that we may have to meet the needs of our family members. Daily planned activities are always available for them to participate in and enjoy interacting with other residents. We don’t hesitate to recommend Auburn Hill!

I’ve had the pleasure of supporting a client who recently joined the Auburn Hill team, and I cannot express enough how positive the experience has been. From day one, both my client and I were welcomed with genuine warmth by the kitchen staff, nurses, administrative team, and management. The sense of teamwork and support within this community is truly exceptional. Thank you to the entire Auburn Hill team for creating such an uplifting environment and for giving my client the opportunity to grow alongside such wonderful people. It’s clear that Auburn Hill is a place where both residents and staff are treated with care, respect, and genuine compassion.
