I was looking recently for a senior care home for in San Francisco for my mom who is in her early 90s. I called a number of senior homes that were recommended by several of my friends. I visited a number of homes and found one call Autumn Glow Alzheimers Care Home located on Grove Street in the Hayes Valley, to be very welcoming. The facility is not very too big so it feels like family environment. The facility is very clean and tidy and it appears that the senior residents that are well and happy. One of the staff call Emmy gave me a tour of the facility. She was very friendly and professional. She took time to answer in detail questions I had relating to the care and activities for seniors residents, which I really appreciate. She seemed to be a very caring person from the interactions she had with the residents and the caregivers. Overall I had a very positive feeling about this facility and would strongly consider this home for my mom. I also highly recommend this facility to others if they are looking for a clean and friendly environment.

I really like the service from this place and they take good care of the elderly. My Grandpa really likes this place. Especially Emmy is super helpful, explained everything clearly!

As a medical courier , I bring prescribed medication to people on hospice all around the city visiting all kinds of facilities. Visiting this facility had to be one of the most negative experiences I’ve ever had, and trust me I’ve been to some pretty questionable areas. The woman who greeted me at the door was incredibly rude, shooing me away, and even put her hands on me pushing me back and putting her hands in my face. She spoke no English which isn’t a problem, but maybe they should change her role considering the person opening the door should be able to communicate with the visitor even just a little bit. I had a bag of medication, in a uniform, and did not ever act with force or with ill intent. Finally after experiencing her I finally was able to reach someone named Emmy, who was no help and she looked like she was in charge so that was concerning. Anyways, I’m writing this review because I know that the care of elders who are vulnerable are in these peoples hands. If you are looking for a facility you can trust to take care of your family members I would definitely stay away from this one. If I was treated with such little respect in the amount of 5-10 minutes I can only imagine what it’s like being there all day.

Finding a good memory care assisted living home is so difficult, especially when we needed a Cantonese specific one. Autumn Glow is an amazing facility. The staff is wonderful and caring. My Dad's needs are being well cared for, and he is enjoying his days playing Mah Jong and interacting with the other residents and staff. They serve Chinese food at every meal, which really suits my Dad's tastes. They even make Chinese soups! Twice a week, he attends the day services at the Jackie Chan Center, so a van picks him up/drops him back off at Autumn Glow. The facility is a clean and inviting place. It's located in Hayes Valley which is very convenient for us. There is a park a block away that we often walk with my Dad to. The park has a lovely playground for my daughter to play in. There are also a ton of restaurants/coffee shops within walking distance. If you are looking for a Chinese speaking memory care facility in San Francisco, Autumn Glow is a really good choice.
