As soon as I had my tour I knew this was the perfect place for my mother and I've only grown to love it more. There is a very warm, homey atmosphere at Grand Brook. The staff are wonderful from the front office to the kitchen to maintenance. I moved my mother from a care facility in Pennsylvania to Texas and they met me there and flew back with us which gave me so much peace of mind. They have all kinds of activities throughout the day and there is almost always music playing somewhere, which my mother really enjoys. I love the layout with cozy rooms to watch TV or sit and visit. The atrium and sunroom are wonderful additions where you can take your loved one outside and know they are still safe. My mother is a bit of an escape artist outside so it's a very thoughtful idea to include secured outside areas. They enlist the help of hospice when possible and that has been a wonderful addition to my mothers care. The aides, whether from Grand Brook or Hospice, are so sweet and happy. My mother is not just surviving there, she is thriving. I really couldn't as for more.

My dad, David Strickland, has been here for 6 weeks. We are very pleased with his nurse and the staff has been wonderful. Diana has been very personable and helpful, and all the staff is amazing in general.

If you are searching for a caring, clean, loving place for your loved one look no more. Grand Brook Memory Care of Carrollton is the place. We were looking for a memory care for my mother in law and wanted place that felt like home, not only for her but for us as well. We had visited a few places, before finding Grand Brook. Grand Brook really set themselves apart as they really spent a lot of time getting to know us as a family, what our needs were, what was important to us AND also getting to know my mother-in-law. Other facilities will do the general meet and greet, but I don't feel like they really take the time to get to know the family and the needs. Grand Brook was different in that way. They were also amazing at helping us transition from our home to Grand Brook. This was a hard thing for us, but they took the time to guide and support us every step of the way. My mother-in-law has been here for 6 months now, and we could not be happier. The place is clean, the environment is homely. For the most part the caretakers really look out for the residents and enjoy being there, smiles and all. They also get to know you and a few have even become friendly faces that I love to see. The Directors of the facility are amazing. They are helpful, encouraging and accommodating, I can't say enough here. They all really go out of their way to ensure you as a family are good and the resident. All residents look clean and fresh, and are well taken care of. They have daily activities which residents can participate as much or as little as they chose. We as a family are very happy with Grand Brook, and would highly recommend it to others. A breath of fresh air compared to other facilities in the area.

A couple of months ago, we moved my mother-in-law into this facility, and I am so thankful that this is the one we chose. The staff has been by our side, every step of the way answering messages after hours, special after hours trips to meet with us and has expedited a solution to any requests that we have made along the way. It is evident that these people are not just there for a job to clock in and out. They are giving their whole hearts to the residence every second they are there. What is really great about this place is that it feels like a big family the moment you walk through door. This alone, relieves so much stress on our family knowing that we picked the right place. They have provided us with so much emotional support when we were worried about her moving into a new place. I thought we were coming to the end of care stage but my mother-in-law is doing better at this facility and thriving by giving her more time, patience and attention than we were able to provide at home. All of the staff is amazing and everyone is always smiling and goes above and beyond, and in such a stressful time this has been such a blessing to have these people on our side. We toured several other facilities and although there may be some that are much more “grandiose” in new buildings and fancy buses, those are all just distractions and book covers. Once you dig deeper with other facilities you will find that it is more about money than it is about love and family.

We brought my Father-in-Law to Grand Brook Carrollton last October. We visited a lot of different facilities, but we chose Grand Brook because it was brighter, had been recently updated and the staff offered more extensive care as your loved one's dementia got worse. This included simple things like incontinence care and feeding your loved one if they couldn't feed themselves. (Some facilities actually told us he would have to go somewhere else if he couldn't feed himself...ridiculous in my opinion). Gene was very happy there even as his condition worsened. He was always flirting with the ladies (he was 86) and taking candy from their candy dishes. :-) Grand Brook has a good staffing level, and they have consistent activities to get residents involved and moving, if possible. He took a few falls and they always took great care of him (sometimes he refused to use his walker). It really didn't matter if he was having a 'bad day', they always found a way to make him smile. In his last week of hospice care, we were touched by how many of the staff came by his room to check on him - even if they were not working. They all loved him! THANK YOU Grand Brook for taking care of Gene and making his last days as happy as possible! Obviously, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Grand Brook of Carrollton!!
