We had a great experience with Avalon for my father who was in the last stage of vascular dementia. They were very welcoming whenever I dropped by to see him no matter the time of day. When he first was transitioning to the residence, we would get texts and photos to show us how he was doing. The staff would host families on special holidays, and it was nice to meet the other families of the residents. It created a warm and friendly community. When my father became bed ridden before his death, Lucy, the head resident manager of his resident house, exuded so much empathy for him. She would feed him their meals, or make him smoothies when he couldn’t eat/chew. Whenever we would come to see him during this time, we would walk into his room and often see Lucy by his bedside talking to him. This kind of love towards the residents helped us feel at peace with the process of his death. My mother has already requested that if ever the time comes and she has a need for memory care, she wants to go to Avalon.

Our family had a very positive experience with Avalon Memory Care during my father’s later years. Caring for a loved one with memory challenges is never easy, but the staff at Avalon treated him with dignity, patience, and genuine compassion. Because of the consistent care, attention, and structure provided, we truly believe his quality of life was better—and his life was extended—by being at Avalon. His final years were calmer, safer, and more comfortable than they would have been otherwise. That peace of mind meant everything to our family. The team went above and beyond to communicate with us, address concerns, and ensure he was cared for as an individual, not just a patient. Memory care is complex and demanding work, and the staff handled it with professionalism and heart. We are grateful for the care my father received and for the role Avalon played in giving him dignity, comfort, and stability in his final years. We would not hesitate to recommend Avalon Memory Care to families facing similar circumstances.

I am so thankful to Avalon Memory Care for taking such good care of my mother. They not only looked after her physical needs, but also gave her a true quality of life. Staff was always attentive and compassionate. She especially enjoyed the Sunday visit from the pastor. The singing and dancing to hymns brought her so much joy. Thanks, to Avalon she was able to live out her final years in a place of safety, comfort and genuine care. I will always be grateful for the love and support they provided to her and to our family.

I was a hospice nurse before I became a real estate agent, well actually psych but that is not important. I have to say that the care that my father-in-law got from Avalon Memory Care was what extended his life multiple years. He was amazingly taken care of. His life meant something to them. His care was amazing. I am so thankful for Avalon. He would have never lived another 6 years without their exceptional care! Especially the quality of life that he lived!

It’s been three weeks since we transferred my mom to Avalon in Arlington. Although this an event of so many adjustments, the staff has been very supportive and helpful during this new chapter in all of our lives. The entire process from admission paperwork to actual moving my mom into Avalon has been very smooth. The entire staff is very informative, accommodating and helpful to my mom’s needs. The staff keeps us informed of my mom’s well being on a daily basis.
