The staff was always friendly and helpful at the Keller location. While we were frantically trying to find a place for Dad since we could no longer care for him, they expedited the process and we were able to get him moved in the next day. The place was always clean. We had Thanksgiving dinner there, the food was excellent. I did notice they keep a close eye on the residents which is comforting.

The staff was great. They took good care of my mom. She was always clean and dressed. They did activities and tried to involve my mom. The food was good. My only complaint was her clothes would get put away in someone else's closet. The staff would go and hunt them down but it was a little frustrating.

The staff at the Keller facility has been great in caring for my mother. They genuinely care for her just as they would their own mother. They have been great at communicating with me when any issue arises.

We found this facility upon referral. We called and set-up appointment to meet with Michelle Strong and discuss the needs of our loved one. We had planned a June move in date, but unfortunately circumstances arose that expedited the move in date. While our loved one was in hospital and we focused on her care, after notifying Michelle Strong with Avalon of situation she made the transfer of our loved one from hospital to Avalon seamless and easy given the situation. We are more than thankful for her help and our loved one has responded well to the staff and others at Avalon. Truly a God send and we highly recommend Michelle and Avalon!

The most difficult part of my mother’s long journey with dementia was finding a suitable place for her when we could no longer care for her at home. It was so upsetting for all of us to have to move her from place to place because of lack of adequate care, dirty and unsafe living conditions, suspected mistreatment, and a general lack of concern for her wellbeing. We ultimately realized that most caregivers and facilities management lacked training, knowledge and experience in caring for Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients. At one self-described “memory care center”, Mom was improperly medicated and ended up in the hospital for three weeks. We were truly blessed when a hospital social worker put us in touch with a placement advisor who wholeheartedly recommended Avalon Memory Care. It was truly a Godsend! Everyone in the Avalon organization was kind, knowledgeable and reassuring in their approach to providing top-notch care for Mom. Avalon made arrangements for us to bring Mom directly from the hospital and staff met us in the driveway to welcome her to her new Avalon home. From that moment on, Mom received the very best quality of care as well as genuine affection from the caregivers and staff. As with many dementia patients, Mom’s behavior could be difficult at times but she was always treated with compassion and dignity. The calm confidence of the Avalon staff in dealing with Mom and other residents was both comforting and reassuring for my family. Mom’s room was always spotless, her clothes were always clean, and she was always meticulously dressed and groomed. We visited Mom on a regular basis, but the staff frequently contacted us to keep us updated on her progress and condition. The Avalon facility at Keller is a beautiful place, but the real beauty is in the dedicated caregivers, staff and management who provide their very best to their residents. Deborah Kircher
