Avalon Springs Health Campus

This is a review of PT. I ASKED FOR MALE THERAPIST as my wife doesn't respond to female as well as males for what ever reason. She has only seen male maybe 4 times out of 37 days and she shows little progress in my eyes. They do what ever they wish, as a outsider I don't believe they look at the interest of the patient and wishes of the family.

Had reached out thru social worker as my mother is in hospital. Was denied bc my mother is on dialysis and a liability! Seems funny that the pcacs will transport my mom to dialysis and this facility does outings for their residents. Last I looked, that is a liability as well. Would not recommend this facility to anyone.

My mom was here for rehab after her fall, I couldn't of asked for better help. The communication was great with staff and they were very friendly. My mom actually liked it there. She is an amazing cook, makes the best meatloaf and she actually liked the food. I don't think I would ever go to another facility. I highly recommend Avalon Springs.

My mother is making good progress at Avalon Rehab facilities in Valparaiso. That is not an easy accomplishment for an 81 year old person that suffers from a slow and steady terminal disease while experiencing health issues complicated by COVID. In her own words, her experience far exceeds expectation for places like this. “ I am treated with dignity and care and kindness from everyone here. Staff members are so kind and helpful to each other and their goal is to make you happy and content with their care. Everyone always smiles and greet you and you feel so welcome and well cared for. The fact that each of them are courteous to each other is so helpful. The nurses are kind and try to make you as comfortable as possible. This is a great place to have rehabilitation because there are some quality people working to get you better every day. I like the food. I like the room and I like the cleanliness of the whole place. So glad I am here to recover from my hospital visit with Covid.”

My mother was in the Valparaiso facility for about a month. She received excellent care. The staff I met were friendly and seemed to have a bond with my mother. A couple of the staff, Kathy and Maddy, seemed to go the extra bit to include me in the routine of my mother, even though I live four hours away. A big shout out to all the staff members who made her stay there as best it could be. Thank you so much, Lee
