We have been so pleased with the care my aunt has received at Avita of Wells and feel very comfortable recommending this place to anyone with a loved one with memory care needs. I can’t say enough good things about the staff, food and the cleanliness. From the executive director, all the way to the people providing daily care, everyone has been caring, friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. We toured many different facilities throughout Maine and Avita not only exceeded our expectations but was surprisingly the more affordable option. We are so thankful to have such top notch care so close to home!

My mom and dad moved into Avita before the full facility was completed, and both passed in the community with hospice care. I really struggled when it was obvious that they needed more care than we could provide, and I did extensive research to find a good memory care facility for them to live in. Avita of Wells was less than 10 minutes from my home, and I was able to observe the community at all different times of the day, both with expected and unexpected visits. The level of care and affection with which my parents were treated was unexpected, and unparalleled. And when each passed, the care that my family and I were given was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this amazing place!

The entire staff at Avita of Wells not only provided great comfort to my mom, who resided there for over three years, but to her family near and far with tremendous compassion and diligent communication. I never announced my visits in advance. Mom was always clean, comfortable, and safe. She was able to maintain her dignity throughout her battle with Alzheimer’s disease thanks to the great care she received. I highly recommend Avita of Wells if your loved one is in need of full-time residential care.

Avita of Wells was a very good place for my mom. She lived at home as long as she could, but we had to move her to care facility. She was not happy the first couple of weeks, but the staff really helped keep her occupied, it helped that she made a very good friend and the two were together all the time. The place is clean; the rooms are full of light and very comfortable. The staff is wonderful and really care for the residents. There are secured courtyards so residents can sit outside in the Summer. They cared for her right up to the end.

We have found Avita of Wells to be a very good environment to care for my aunt, who has mild dementia, preventing her from living on her own but is still capable of basic self care. We tried to have her live with us, but the rigors of dementia and its manifestations of paranoia proved emotionally overwhelming for us, and so we chose Avita of Wells. We have found their staff at all levels to be very helpful and caring. My aunt loves being there, from the friendliness of the staff to the view from her apartment. The only downside I can find is the cost of care is very expensive, but this isn't surprising given the level of staffing and quality of the facilities.
