Barbur Vista Residential Care

When Helen needed additional personal care, we knew just what to do -- find Askol! (Helen had been with Askol at a previous Assisted Living place.) Helen has a private room with a bath and huge closet at Barbur Vista. She was able to bring her personal furniture including tons of artwork and her Hummel collection. My friend happens to be on Hospice, and Askol's staff work seamlessly with the visiting nurse and social workers. Her dietary restrictions are met with ease; additional treats are stored in common refrigerators and freezer. The staff appears to enjoy Helen and always meet her visitors with warm, genuine smiles. I found Barbur Vista after an exhaustive search for my husband. When I walked in I knew this was perfect! It’s spacious and light with lots of room for him to go all around in his wheelchair or go for walks with his walker. There are 2 buildings and his building only has 14 residents, the other 16. He has a lovely private room with a large window that brings in lots of light, and, his own bathroom. It’s set against a beautiful wooded backdrop. There’s a large covered patio. And, when it’s warm out the residents do activities outside. They have 3 healthy home cooked meals a day served in a lovely dining area. The staff are very caring and the administrators are very responsive and helpful. They have lots of group activities and a 2Xweek chaplain service, one day catholic and one day Protestant. I spend time with my husband every day and feel so blessed to be able to go home at night and not worry about him.

My father was a tenant here for 2 years before he passed, he was always pleased with the attention and cleanliness of the place all the time. We visited him as much as we could and he was nothing but happy I leave my review now because I can’t appreciate you guys enough you went above and beyond taking care of him you are nothing but gems. Thank you again for all your hard work you guys. If anyone is looking to send there special someone here you won’t be disappointed.
