BAYVIEW MANOR

My mom was a resident at Bayview Manor in Searsport, Maine for 2 1/2 years. I was rarely pleased with her overall care there. I constantly found my mother with a dead hearing aid battery. Some of the staff didn’t even know how to change a hearing aid battery. This facility states that amenities like “Emergency Call System” were available. I only observed in bathroom only. My mom fell, broke her hip and was bedridden until she died 10 weeks later. Another one of the amenities were nursing services. An untreated blood clot/leg infection occurred year and a half before she passed. Housekeeping issues, rude staff and it was just insulting especially for a private pay resident. I am so tired of reading about all the amenities at this facility. Truly insulting! When my mom was bedridden, there were no call buttons beside her bed. She had to holler and hope some staff member would hear her. I went to visit my mom on Monday, October 9, 2023 and didn’t find her in her room. I just stood in the doorway of her room not knowing what was going on. Staff member approached me and said, “They said they called you.” I stated I had no calls concerning my mother. Staff member stated, “Your mother died on Saturday two days ago.” My sibling was never notified of her passing either. Can you imagine going to visit your mom with treats to find out she died two days ago!!!
