I place my mom in this facility....Huge mistake...men share bathrooms with women and a man in a wheelchair knocked her down and injured her with no apology and no caregivers to be found...if I could rate this place a zero, I would.

I recently tried to place my mother in one of the Bea Hive locations, and had issues with the room provided not being move in ready for a new resident. Had to complain twice to the owner to get it fixed. After my mother was moved in the owner notified me I was not allowed to use a baby monitor to check on her well being. Owner, incorrectly cited Maryland state law saying it was prohibited which is not true. Maryland allows the use of cameras to monitor elders due to the growing cases of elder abuse in the US. All this was pointed out to the owner who should know these facts. Instead she offered to allow me to place a camera in public areas, which would violate the other residents rights. Then said she would need to check with the other residents if she allowed a camera in the private room I was paying for, which made absolutely no sense. Why would they need to provide permission? So after multiple delays moving my mother into the facility. Then several heated discussions about Maryland state laws, I was forced to move my mother out of Bea Hive less than 24 hours after I moved her into the facility. This experience was traumatic to my mother who has dementia and to me as her caregiver. No where in the contract provided did it state that monitors or cameras were not allowed. And while nothing occurred that was a cause for concern the one evening my mother spent in the facility, the owners insistence that these types of devices not be allowed was a huge red flag. I would not recommend this place for elderly who cannot speak or defend themselves.

My father was a resident of Bea's Hive for about three years. Except for one incident I haven't had any complaints about the care he received. I would highly recommend Bea's Hive to anyone needing assisted living.
