My dad has been living at Belmont for 4 1/2 years. It warms my heart to hear him say that he is happy, safe, and especially when he calls Belmont Village his HOME.

We recently visited Belmont Village Thousand Oaks and met Jennifer Himes. She was so pleasant and easy to talk to, and the community itself is beautiful — it truly felt welcoming from the moment we walked in. You can see the genuine care Jennifer has for the seniors she helps. She listens, understands, and works hard to make sure they find the right place to live. We’ve now started a partnership with Belmont Village, working together to help more seniors find a place where they feel comfortable and cared for. Thank you, Jennifer, for making such a difference!

My wife and I are very appreciative of the loving care that Belmont Village provided to my mother Louise in the final year of her life. As a former teacher, mom really enjoyed the organization and structure provided by the Circle of Friends program: always something to do, always something new to learn, organized in a daily schedule that she could understand that kept her active and engaged throughout the day. After dinner, which mom always enjoyed, she’d relax for a while and enjoy a visit from our family, a phone call with a friend, or by feeding treats to Tiger, the frisky cat who lived a couple of doors down the hall. Then, one of Belmont’s friendly PALs would help mom get ready for bed, always gently asking her about the day’s activities and commenting upon her proudly displayed new artwork or photos of our family. As mom’s health declined, her PALs and the nursing staff at Belmont increased mom’s frequency and level of care to match her needs. She frequently commented how appreciative she was for this. The entire Belmont team did a wonderful job of making mom’s last days as comfortable as possible. My mom is gone just over a year now, and we speak of her most days…for example how she’d react to the latest achievements of her grandchildren, or results from our family’s favorite sports teams. While we miss her very much, we’re confident that we made the best choice in selecting Belmont Village for her, and we’re very appreciative of the loving and skilled care she received there.

We placed my dad here and within a year he was hospitalized for an untreated ulceration that developed sepsis. No one at the facility communicated this to me although the med staff stuffed toilet paper in his socks and gave him bandaids. 6 weeks in hospital and they nearly amputated. Not one person from Belmont reached out or returned a call. Food was garbage, consistently short staffed. Promise after promise to resolve issues never materialized. My father’s organs have been permanently damaged due to their incompetence and neglect in at least disclosing that my dad had an infection. I wouldn’t let anyone I cared about be subjected to this place. I turned them into social services. There is a record so no one else has to go through what our family did with Belmont.

I am very impressed with Belmont Village in Thousand Oaks. My husband has been there for a few months and the staff has been phenomenal. It is a great relief knowing he has the best care that could be provided for him. He participates in the Circle of Friends program and I am sure this helps with his mental health. Thank you, Belmont!
