BICKFORD OF MIDDLETOWN

In two years my spouse has resided in Mary B Memory Care. The Caregivers are trained to understand and deal with the many forms of dementia and Alzheimer's behaviors. The core staff have many years at Bickford of Middletown and know each resident and their particular needs. All rooms are single person and can be furnished with the residents' familiar items from home. The meals are really very good nutritionally, flavor and variety. If there are special diets required by a resident the kitchen offers options to meet those needs. I am sorry to say that there is no designated Activity Manager in memory care. I hope that position will be filled soon but in the mean time the Caregivers do activities with the residents and bake special snacks in the afternoon. There is no such place that is the perfect facility for memory care but when there is an issue that affects the care of a Mary B resident the Managers and Director will take it seriously and meet with you or address the problem immediately, if possible. I gave my rating as four stars but it's more like 3 and a half currently as they rebuild their staff to what it was a year ago.

Bickford is without a doubt the best Assisted living/memory care I have ever seen! The facility is always clean, the staff go out of their way to be helpful and the residents are thriving! It really feels like a community and family when you’re there. Bickford of Middletown will always be my first choice!!!

My parents moved in last April and I have been extremely pleased with our decision. The staff has become part of our family. My parents are always complementing the staff and the care they receive. This is exactly where I want my parents to be. Wonderful place.

My Dad's lived at Bickford of Middletown for a little over a year now and I have to say thank you to the entire staff for taking such good care of him. Everyone is great at tolerating his grumpiness and treats him with the respect and care one would give to a friend or family member. The nursing staff and Aids take very good care of his medical needs and are very attentive.

I cannot say enough positive things about Amanda and the incredible experience we had at Bickford. From the very first phone call, she made us feel welcomed, informed, and genuinely cared for. In what can be an emotional and overwhelming time for families, Mandy was a steady, compassionate presence who guided us with patience and clarity. What really sets her apart is the perfect combination of professionalism and warmth. She took the time to understand our family’s unique needs, answered every question thoroughly, and never made us feel rushed or pressured. The tours were organized, thoughtful, and tailored specifically to what mattered most to us. Amanda was always prompt in following up and made sure no detail was missed. Because of her support, we felt confident and at peace placing our loved one in the care of Bickford It’s not just a facility—it’s a community, and a big part of that feeling started with Amanda .
