Called to try to get a copy of my Pca certificate a woman name Sammy said she does not have access to the files and refused to let me talk to anyone who does and then hung up on me because I would not give her my personal information. Responding to the owner. I never claimed anything your saying and for 2 I don’t need to give my personal information to anyone that can not assist with what I’m asking for for 3 I will not be taking this down. Have a great day. Responding to the owner again I can see where the receptionist gets the attitude. I was employed there and just wanted to speak to someone in records or someone who could check to see if my copy of my pca was still kept in a file but Sammy was very rude a refused to not let me speak to no one but her before hanging up on me. Her job as a receptionist is to transfer calls if she can not assist but she refused. As a business owner Please get a recorded line so you know what’s going on!

Birch Gardens has been absolutely wonderful to myself, my family, and mom who is currently there. I have been impressed with the level of personable care they give their residents making them feel this is their home. It has really helped my mom thrive in a place where she needs more care and attention. The admin staff are responsive and provide me anything I need to know while maintaining independence as much as possible, which is rare in most facilities. The nursing staff are so kind and show deep appreciation to each residents’ lives, which has made this decision so much easier to cope with. If you’re looking into a facility that offers memory care solutions, please consider this place!

My Dad has been here for over two years. My wife and I both noticed a dramatic improvement in the quality of care, and the general condition of the facility after Rachel Craig took over. Seems like the standards are higher now. The staff here are really wonderful and do a great job at a job that is very challenging. God Bless all of them. Sincerely, Chris & Peggy Bella

Our family was forced to move our mother from an assisted living facility for reasons out of our control. It was a very frightening time for us and probably for Mom too. She was in late stages of Alzheimer’s disease and not in a position to fight for herself nor was she able to tell trusted employees of that facility if she was being abused. On the tip of a family friend who works for Hospice, we visited the Admin at Birch Gardens of Staunton. Our family was impressed with Miss Rachel and several of the aids we met that day as well as their policies. The facility did not have that underlying urine odor common in assisted living facilities. The common areas are sunny and bright and welcoming. The residents rooms are roomy and bright as well. Our Mom, in her dementia, did NOT want to be driven away from the old facility. But when we arrived at Birch Gardens, staff was ready with a wheel chair and someone to help Mom from the car. She immediately turned to smiling and calling everyone Angel. She felt at home immediately. Our family is forever in the debt of the wonderful staff here. They are super easy to work with and guided us through the move-in process and every other aspect of Mom’s stay there. Mom passed away in March 2025, so she only spent about 5 months at Birch Gardens, but our family felt well at ease with Mom in their care. She was in a safe haven. We thank you, Birch Gardens family.

My friend has advanced dementia, and was in a memory care facility in Charlottesville, where she suffered neglect and a lack of loving care. We moved her to Birch Gardens about six months ago, and it has made a world of difference. Her mental health issues were finally addressed and properly medicated, she is lovingly cared for by an attentive staff, she is able to enjoy a spacious room and bathroom with her picture posted by the door so she can find her way to the correct room. Her hair and toenails are cared for, she is helped with showers and dressing, and she receives home-cooked meals in a large, sunny dining room. There are many areas for sitting and conversation, an activity room for games, crafts and church services, and a beautiful back garden space. She has been able to plant and care for flowers in two large raised beds. Not only is Staunton, Virginia, a beautiful location with lots for visitors to enjoy, but this facility has a real heart for its residents. I recommend it highly!
