This facility was bought out by a new corporate management company September 2025. Our family was moved in prior to this buyout and it was a great experience, felt like they were well taken care of. Since this buyout, care has dramatically gone downhill, takes far too long to receive care after requesting, rooms and bathrooms are not kept clean, management shows zero concern or investment in their care or understanding of their health needs. We have moved our family out and are so much happier. Do not recommend this facility at all.

When deciding on care for a loved one, you only want the best. The staff at Somerby Edgewater is kind, compassionate and understanding always. They treat residents as if they are their own family and have open communication that makes us feel comforted knowing dad is safe and cared for. Becky, the wellness director, is one of the kindest people we have ever met. She has been a tremendous support for our family as we are caring for both my father in law who is a resident as well as our child who has cancer which has left us pulled in multiple directions as caregivers. Becky has helped us with things that are far out of her job description because she is dedicated to ensuring that every resident is treated with the utmost respect and care. Her heart for the work she does is unmatched and we are so grateful to know her and that dad is under her care.

Terrible management and staff. Revolving door. MC patients are made to sit slumped over in the “dining area” so the very few caregivers can watch them. Many of the poor souls should be in bed resting, but are instead locked out of their rooms because there are not enough caregivers to manage checking on them all. Medication administration is fumbled on a regular basis. Caregivers constantly gossip and complain about the working conditions and management. The food is garbage. I was able to visit my mother in the MC unit on a regular basis and observed this first hand. When I brought things to the attention of the Director, nothing improved. You absolutely cannot trust this organization.

I would now this place a 0 if I could! My sister moved into Memory Care at the Blake in 2019 and it has been great all this time especially with amazing and caring direct care staff and my sister flourished. That all changed overnight almost when a new director took over and brought all her upper management and director care staff from a previous facility she managed. My sister became sick and I emailed the Director and NEVER heard back from her about my sister's health and even addressed this in front of her at Bridge meeting about the new owners and she never even came over to address this with me. Next week my sister's granddaughter visited at 2pm and found my sister soaking wet with urine, her bed soaking wet and her recliner soaking wet and breakfast tray still in room. Staff apologized and promised 2 hour room checks however that never happened and still not happening as of today witnessed by me,other relatives and friends. Found my sister and new beautiful place and have sent the Director 2 emails giving our 14 day notification for move out 9/30/25. Even verified Director email as well as new finance manager and resent our 14 day notification and request a response and to let me know what else I needed to. After receiving NO response, I went to begin packing my sister's room, I delivered a hard copy of my 2 email notifications in envelopes and slid under Director and finance manager doors. Being upset about not receiving any response, I taped a hard copy of our request to the Director's door and as of today STILL have received NOTHING from anyone! If this is the kind of service these staff are going to give my sister and our family 6 years then you can have it and so glad we're out of there 9/30/25 regardless if we hear from anyone. We will check our keys and get a receipt and gone! I'm if you check your move outs recently, we're not the only ones! Maybe some one will reach out to me about our move out but either I've given our required 14 day notification as required and we are gone on 9/30/25. I have never felt so disrespected and angry as a relative taking care of my sister as I'm feeling right now. If you're looking at the Blake/ Somerby it's beautiful on the outside but please talk to other family members before making a big mistake !

It's only been one week, but so far my mom likes her new home! Update after two months... Mom is still enjoying the Blake, making friends over daily dining and some activities. The place is clean and pleasant. She loves getting her her and nails done in the salon! Biggest complaint is staffing issues, particularly on weekends. I have addressed this with management. I'm taking my review down to 3 stars from five because of these staffing issues. My mom was left on the floor one Saturday for almost an hour before being assisted. Management has dealt with the training issues for staff, so fingers crossed it doesn't happen again.
