It’s hard to put into words the calm and peace of knowing your parent is safe, fed and enriched. My mom recently joined the community at Bonaventure and both she and us kids are thrilled with her experience. She loves the food, is constantly doing new activities, and has met some lovely people who have helped her get connected. Having Mom say that she wishes she had made the move years ago rather than live alone in her house is validating. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard helping our parents live their best life.

While we didn't end up having my parents stay here due to unforeseen circumstances, I wanted to say that Bonaventure Medford is a bright and cheery place, seems warm and lively and the apartments we saw were bright, spacious and comfortable looking. The residents looked happy to be there and my parents we excited and looking forward to moving in. Debbie Wilson, the Executive Director was a gem with us, loved and knew all her clients and could not have been sweeter to my parents. She is a genuine and caring person who was a joy to work with during the short time we knew her. Could not have asked for a warmer reception.

We moved Dad from another facility over to Memory Care at Bonaventure a month ago. Prior to the move-in, family members joined ne a few times so they could check it out & both see & feel the difference between this & the prior facility. Not all our visits were announced. Everyone in our family was impressed with everything. We noticed right away the MC unit didn’t stink, as some do. We all felt the warmth and care Ilene, Lala and the staff showed the residents. The MedTechs & Caretakers are all amazing. They show great patience & understanding in dealing with those suffering with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. We were happy Dad didn’t have an extreme set-back w/his move. He is actually spending time out of his room & interacting with others. Music is big, which Dad enjoys. Some staff make a point of dancing with him if he is listening to music in his room, & he gets a total kick out of that. They are quick to learn his likes/dislikes, which is helpful. Mealtimes aren’t dreaded anymore-he is picky but seems to like most of it. My son accompanied him to dinner (not to eat, but to be w/him); my so was unexpectedly asked if he would like (unexpectedly, as it is not the norm to eat unless prearranged) to actually eat the same food - he came home raving about how much better it was than the previous place! And Dad gets his food faster-no 45 minute waits as he watches others getting served. We were really happy to hear that as Dad was previously losing weight. They make sure he gets 3 Ensures a day, which Dad loves. Communication is great - everyone is willing and able to ask or answer questions, & will call me if there is an issue that needs to be addressed. Jennifer, Debbie and Liza have always been helpful, engaging, & patient with me in arranging Dad’s move. No matter how many times I bug them w/ worries & questions, they remain friendly & patient. And they remember our names!! They invited me to a talk for family members on remembering Selfcare - it was an eye-opener for me & my family. Again, we can’t say enough about the entire staff, including the house keepers (never a frown). We are happy and relieved to have found him quality care and surroundings!

I can only say, "Wow!" Upon walking into the Bonaventure of Medford one is embraced by a warm and welcome environment that feels like home! Immediately one notices tall ceilings, exceptional design & layout with residents and staff interacting and moving about. Not a single detail in the facility's design is left to chance. As wonderful as the building is the true experience is found in the staff at Bonaventure of Medford. Every staff member from reception, care givers, housekeeping and maintenance are at the ready to assist with a smile and positivity. I can only imagine that Bonaventure of Medford invests substantial effort in hiring and training their employees to provide such a service to their residents. I quickly realized that Debbie Wilson, the Executive Director, sets an exceptional standard for all to follow with her positive example and leadership. Debbie is fully engaged with residents and staff attending to every detail. Bonaventure of Medford is a must see for senior living for independent living, assisted living and memory care.
