I suffered a traumatic experience and I really needed therapy but do not have insurance, from the phones calls to the intake to the therapist I ended up, everyone at CMH has been really helpful and nice. Waaayyyyy more helpful than 988 was, that helpline is a joke. The appointment making and intake process were both pretty easy and they definitely worked with me to come up with what I would be charged, I was happy with what we landed at. The security at the building is always nice, have never had any issues whatsoever. The therapist I ended up with is great. They have been very helpful and have really helped me get control back over my life. They are also flexible with me if I need to change days due to work. I am very happy with the service I have gotten. I will say that to start I was a bit apprehensive since they did not have great reviews, but my experience has been stellar. I would definitely recommend them if you need some help, or if don't have much money or any insurance, they have quite a few different therapy programs and they will help you get into what you need. I go after work hours so I do not have to miss work, which is great.

The WORST receptionist I’ve ever encountered in my entire life. She has no business working with the public and certainly no business working in mental health. Acted inconvenienced to do her job. They also have another address that wasn’t given to me and is nowhere to be found online. I will be finding other resources for my daughter even if I have to drive across the state.

The mental health system in Michigan is a joke. The fact that you can involuntarily send someone to a mental health treatment center without their consent is insane. These folks tried to help but their psychiatrist was rapidly diagnosing me in less than 15 minutes. It just shows that we need more guidelines and controls to prevent people from being placed into a system where they will just throw prescription drugs at you to solve a problem.

Just came from CMH crisis services at around 7:20 p.m. on October 28th, 2025 and I have to say I'm quite disappointed in that place. I came there asking if I could talk to somebody about a crisis I'm going through as far as being fatigued and not knowing where to turn. Both lady said they could do nothing for me and I'm just wondering, what is it that they do there!? They see that I just came from work and I'm sitting here asking what can you all do as far as to help me get out of my lease because I cant sleep, I am in unsafe living conditions, and am beyond stressed. I feel like I am going to pop at any moment. I talked to a stocky lady with brunette hair and brown highlights who then went to tell somebody else. A middle-aged white woman with short hair and glasses who wear a black shirt and 90s blue jean pants from what it looked like, basically talked down to me and condescended to me, dodged all of my questions, walked away as I was asking a question and overall was no help. It's totally ridiculous! Pointless even going there. I guess they only want people who are deemed unfit for society. You're not going to find any psychiatric help there for your personal crisis, well, unless it was just a me thing...

Life is a special, special journey where CMH stands for "See My Healing." The road has been tragic, yet somehow my care providers and I have come to the miracle of LTD - "Lowest Therapeutic Dose." I take the minimum necessary to keep me out of the psych ward since March 2019. I'm given countless opportunities to have a voice and even get paid. CMH provides diverse services to me from case management to psychiatry to a drop-in to a clubhouse. I haven't always, but now I love the services I receive. Don't give up when it seems no one understands. God made the miracle of you. Everything can turn around. "Life is not over at disability." Give CMH a chance.
