I moved into Brighton Gardens of Friendship Heights in January of 2024. It’s a great neighborhood with many shops and restaurants, plus my son lives just ten minutes away. Moving into Brighton Gardens was one of the best decisions I ever made. I was fortunate in that at my first meal here, I was introduced to people who would become my buddies. I wasn’t expecting for the transition from living on my own to an assisted living community to happen so quickly and smoothly. All it takes is a friend or two, and ice cream served twice daily! I love playing jeopardy here and I also run a memoir club. Transportation to doctor appointments is an added bonus. I’m impressed by the fact that the care staff has been here for so long.

The staff at Brighton Gardens creates a warm, non-pressured environment. The well-planned numerous activities are exceptional -- music, art, lectures, movies, many fine concerts, dancing and field trips. And the facility is nice too -- large communal rooms, a restaurant-style dining room, and large individual rooms.

We moved to Brighton Gardens of Friendship Heights in August 2021. We have a lovely apartment and hotel-like cleaning and laundry service. There are friends to dine with; card games, word games, Spanish lessons, French conversation, movies every evening; current events discussions; concerts or recitals each week; and we go to museums, on garden tours, and to special restaurants. Moreover, we can go to the Kennedy Center or Strathmore, to the theater, or meet up with friends for breakfast, lunch, or dinner out. Also, Brighton Gardens is located in Friendship Heights, with its stores, restaurants, and a wonderful community center and park.

My family member entered the Reminiscence unit at Brighton Gardens Friendship Heights about a month ago. I am extremely happy with the facility. The staff is sensitive, involved, and compassionate. They made the transition as smooth as it could be. The physical plant is most pleasant, with a second floor secured balcony and a nicely-landscaped first floor patio with a walking path. Unit director Fatimah is especially impressive in her sensitivity and attention to detail and Senior Executive Director Rachel is also particularly responsive. Activities coordinator (maybe not her official title) Nadine is notable for her warmth and energy.

Our family loves Brighton Gardens at Friendship Heights! There is a warm and caring atmosphere that permeates every aspect of being there. The staff genuinely care for the welfare of the residents. The food is really good! The upkeep of shared spaces and apartments is immaculate. There are myriad activities daily, weekly, seasonly, and on holidays. Outings are frequent - neighborhood walks, museums, theater. You might also walk in on a Saturday afternoon and hear a professional opera singer entertaining in the main lobby or a group of students performing a recital. We were delighted to receive a video of our aunt dancing! It's definitely not the kind of place where residents are left to waste away in front of a tv all day. Our family visits our aunt pretty much every week so we get a good sense of how she's doing. It is evident to us that her physical, emotional, and cognitive wellbeing are valued and attended to. We feel very fortunate that we found this wonderful place. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the entire staff of Brighton Gardens. We are so so grateful to you all!
