UPDATE: they have lost another ED. She lasted about a month ……🙄 UPDATE: they have removed ANOTHER ED as of last week!!!🙄. AND of course they ignore any of my contacting them(this is the way they handle things with family, residents and healthcare personnel that residents have, they count on you giving up. My daughter asked for my medication log while I was there from August 2023 to October 2025. Why would they not provide those?? Something to hide maybe??? Do NOT put your loved one here!!!! Their care is subpar and their turnover from the ED down to caregivers is so bad!! I lived here for 2 years and they had 5 ED’s, 2 nurses and several agency nurses and so so many caregivers/agency caregivers because they can’t keep staff because management treats them horribly or management hires whomever walks through the door because they need caregivers in those 2 years. They charge for services that you do not receive and I am disabled and needed these services. I expect them to reimburse me for the personal expenses I incurred. Their menus are the same every week, they just change the days and times (lunch/dinner) so it looks different. DON’T let them fool you!!! A facility may look modern and clean, but that is just a facade here, behind the facade is very shameful care and compassion. UPDATE: they have removed ANOTHER ED as of last week!!!🙄. I cannot say enough great things about Astoria Senior Living! The care and attention they provide to residents is truly above and beyond anything we could have imagined. The staff is incredibly hands-on, compassionate, and professional, always going the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly. Jaime, who works at the front desk, is absolutely wonderful—she’s bubbly, sweet, and always willing to help, often sharing little behind-the-scenes details that make me feel even more connected 😊 Caleigh, the head of the activities department, is an absolute gem. She’s fun, full of energy, and always makes my mom laugh. Every time I visit during activities, my mom tells me how much she loves spending time with Caleigh and how they have such a great time together. Overall, our experience at Astoria has been nothing short of excellent, and I am so grateful for the genuine care and warmth they provide.

Communication with the upper management is poor. You never know if PT/OT or the doctor has seen your relative. The upper management keeps changing so you don't know who to go to with concerns. I think the aids could use more training about skin care. For the most part the aids are friendly and interact well with the residents.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the care Astoria has provided for my dad. I think the only thing that needs improvement is having more security such as maybe disguising the fire alarms so residents won't pull it and maybe getting Plexiglass installed.

Although expensive, I feel my mom had good care there. The staff was very attentive to her and loved her. Management is poor. They raised my mom’s rate before I was notified about it. That being said, the nurse and I tried to set a care plan meeting but were unable to do so before the increase took place. I feel a phone call at the least to alert me to this is the least they could have done. I found out when I saw the withdrawal from her checking account. It was increased by over $6300/month. That depleted her savings and there was no Medicaid at this facility so she had to move. She died 2 months later. I have tried for 3.5 months to get paperwork I asked for. Received part of the refund I was promised but still waiting for the room refund that was agreed upon. The director I worked with is no longer there. The regional director called me from an unknown number. All I have is email and no one replies. I’m not letting this go. I will get that paperwork and the refund even if I have to involve my lawyer.
