I visit my mother in independent living often. Brightview has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. We couldn't be happier having our mother be part of the Brightview community.

They market themselves as a “memory care” facility, but based on our experience, I would not consider them one. My grandfather, who struggled with dementia and Alzheimer’s, had a very difficult transition out of the hospital — something that is already challenging for anyone, let alone someone facing such devastating diseases. The only reason I am giving two stars is because of a few staff members who genuinely made a difference: Rebecca, who always offered a positive outlook; Celis, who clearly cared deeply for her work; and Angela, who brought great energy and compassion. However, as a facility, they are not equipped to handle the reality of advanced memory care needs. When my grandfather’s behaviors became more challenging (he has only been there 3 weeks) — which is extremely common with dementia and Alzheimer’s — the response was not to provide support, but instead to claim he was “not a good fit.” Language difficulties, combativeness, and complex medical challenges are all part of these diseases. A true memory care facility should know that — and be prepared for it. In my opinion, this is not true memory care. It is simply assisted living with a “memory care” label for marketing purposes. Families with loved ones facing advanced stages of dementia should look elsewhere — your time, money, and more importantly, your trust deserve better.

Words cannot express how wonderful each and every person at Brightview interacts and treats our parents. It was a difficult for our parents' to leave their home of over 68 years and move into Brightview Independent Living. Since they have been there (about 6 months) they have adjusted and thrived. It seems that everywhere you go in Brightview someone is there with a smile and an outstretched hand, asking how they can help. My parents have both experienced health issues over the past few months and the administration and staff have been extremely supportive in helping us to maneuver the necessary steps to assure that all of their needs are met. Their response time in returning calls and emails is immediate and they always treat us and our parents with respect, dignity and compassion. We simply cannot say enough about Brightview and all of the wonderful people who work there. From the front office, to the switchboard operators, maintenance department, dining room, food service, transportation, vibrant living staff and hospitality service....ALL ARE TOP NOTCH. Our parents and our family are so very happy that they chose to live at Brightview.

I spent a great deal of time researching and visiting senior living facilites, with and without my parents. We felt that Brightview was the clearly the best and it certainly has lived up to our expectations! I can honestly say that the entire staff at Brightview truly cares about the residents. They are helpful and accommodating to all of my mom and dad's needs. The facility is very well maintained and the food is great. They let the voices of the residents be heard in their variety of activities, trips and meal planning. My parents are so happy to be living at Brightview and so is my family!

My husband has been at Brightview Assisted Living for nearly 8 months. The care here is absolutely wonderful. We truly feel that the staff members here care for us like family. From the front desk staff ,van driver ,all of the aides, housekeeper,nurses ,salon staff...I don't want to leave anyone out. The building and facilities are spotlessly clean and beautiful. So many activities to choose from . It has been difficult not having him at home but this surely feels like our second home. I rest easy knowing he is with the caring and professional staff at Brightview Paramus .
