I really enjoyed visiting my former neighbor who seems very happy with her apartment, view, the staff and her quality of life. I am so happy for her. I applied to volunteer there working with hospice patients over two weeks ago and I am sorry not to have heard back from the team there.

Our family's journey with Brightview Woodburn has come to a close with dignity, grace, and respect, and we wanted to express our heartfelt gratitude. Our mother lived at Brightview Woodburn for over three years, progressing from assisted living to memory care. Throughout her time there, my family and I can wholeheartedly say that she was cared for deeply and treated with the utmost respect. Brightview Woodburn was with us every step of the way, providing invaluable guidance and advice that made our mother's life easier and safer. The community at Brightview Woodburn truly lives up to its name. We have come to know many of the residents and their families, and we feel blessed to have had the residents, their families, the staff, and the leadership in our lives. We will miss everyone greatly. The nutrition management and food services are truly top-notch. The kitchen and dining staff were also a vital front line for healthcare, observing residents and helping to inform caregiving. For any families beginning their own journey, we strongly recommend frequent and open communication with leadership and staff. They are truly on your team and offer guidance that will make your life easier. The more open you are, the more support you will receive from them. We are particularly blessed that Toni Battle was there for us; her help was truly indispensable. Every single person at Brightview Woodburn was a stakeholder in our mother's care—from maintenance, nursing, and nutrition to activities and the front desk. Whether in the elevator, walking to the outside patio, or having coffee on the rocking chairs, we were always asked how we were doing and how they could help our mother. Everyone genuinely cared about our mother's well-being and was gracious and thoughtful as our journey came to an end. We were especially touched by how everyone cared for us and helped us through this final chapter. We are blessed to have had our family expanded with so many lovely people. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I recently photographed an event at Brightview Woodburn, and it truly didn’t feel like work. Everyone, from the vibrant residents to the amazing staff was so welcoming and kind. The Executive Director was hands-on and set a warm, positive tone throughout the community. Lisa, the event coordinator, was incredible — every detail was so thoughtful. The CNAs, nurses, and directors from all departments danced and laughed with the residents, filling the room with joy. You could feel the love and energy from everyone involved. It was a pleasure to capture such beautiful, happy moments.

Since I joined BV I have found a lot of kindness and courtesy. In the last 8 months I have enjoyed my work as a Companion, and I am only very grateful for the wonderful professional service.

We just moved my mother in law out of here. It was great for her at first when she was still mobile, but as her need for care increased, Brightview was not able to give her what she needed. That’s fine, they are not a nursing care facility, and we knew that. The problem was that they kept insisting that they could continue to care for her. We waited too long to move her to a nursing facility because Brightview staff were not honest with themselves or us about what they could offer. They encouraged her to stay, presumably for the money. When we moved her out, we were disgusted to find mouse droppings under her chair and mouse traps and droppings in the closet.
