Brookdale was our mom’s third memory care and the best and most caring team we’ve encountered. It felt like we were on a team together. They were communicative, compassionate, and a joy to work with. If you’re new to this journey, follow Amei Pratt (current ED of Brookdale) to wherever she goes. While turnover is high in this field, Amei is skilled at hiring quality people. Thank you Amei, Nurse Tammy, David, Erin, Tina, Autumn, Spencer, Hairdresser Tammy, Doctor Adams (who doesn’t work there but comes there to support the residents) and every single member of the team that helps with care, laundry, cleaning, cooking, and community events (sorry if I missed names). You’ve really stood out as an exceptionally kind and caring group and it meant the world to me.

After looking at several homes for my Father, Brookdale , Bend, was by far the most warm, inviting, and full of activities place by far! Exercise class every day, great food, fun creative activities, trips out, and so much visiting entertainment. Also kind and patient caregivers and Directors. They call me when there is a problem, No matter how small, so that I am aware. I feel so lucky we found them! Price comparable with other facilities we viewed, but offered much more. Highly Recommend.

Hi everyone. I recently attended a Christmas dinner at brookdale. The staff and food was outstanding. I’ve been to a few of these facilities in bend. As my wife works in them. And brookdale is far the best. All the facilities in bend need to run like this place. I felt right at home as soon as I walked in . Just like your part of the family. Thank you everyone at brookdale😁😁😁

After much debate within the family we decided it was time to place my wife Alice in a Memory Care facility. I reviewed 8 facilities in Bend, OR and personally visited 5 of them. Brookdale stood out as reasonably priced, properly staffed with attentive individuals, warm private rooms, nutritious food, a full schedule of resident activities with numerous field trips and a caring place for Alice. After her placement my great impression remained and increased as I worked more closely with facility's management and staff. I'd highly recommend Brookdale to those with a family member needing help in life's later year's challenges.

My father was in memory care at Brookdale Bend facility. Initially his care was good and what one would expect but then after a few months began to deteriorate. We would frequently find his restroom and bedroom filthy with urine and dried fecal material. His clothes, bed linens, shoes and other items were frequently missing. When we tried to address some of these various problems with the executive director, she would make excuses like “I thought you were donating those” and she was not helpful in solving the other issues with the cleanliness and the staff. She ultimately retaliated by redoing my father’s care plan and increasing his monthly rate. At this point I felt we could no longer address our father’s care without retaliation from the executive director by increasing his charges. I was left with no other choice than to move my father to another care facility. It is obvious to me that this organization is just out for profit and not for the well-being of their patients. I found a good resource in the Oregon State Ombudsman however you must keep good records and involve them early on as they will not go back and help with previous billing issues. They are a good resource and will advocate for patients and families that are in long term care.
