This memory care community truly stands out for its compassion and quality of care. The staff treats residents with dignity and patience, creates a safe and comforting environment, and communicates well with families. It’s clean, secure, and thoughtfully designed to feel like home. I would confidently recommend it to anyone seeking exceptional memory care for their loved one. Mindi in admissions is SUPER helpful and cares so much for families!

Although there are a few good staff members, too many nurses and aides are poorly trained & unkind to residents. When family members question something, too many staff are rude & unresponsive. The. "neighborhood" concept doesn't work. Too often residents are left alone. Frequently, I had to go searching for a staff member to help someone. Medication mistakes. Doctor & Nurse Practitioner had appointments with my husband against my wishes & without my knowledge; then billed Medicare. NP & doctor changed my husband's treatment without notifying me. I was overcharged for the room rate. Moved my husband out as soon as possible --less than 4 months. Forfeited $4,000 one-time admission fee.

This place was great until about two weeks ago. They got rid of nearly their entire staff of professionals who knew what they were doing and took great care of my father-in-law. Now, every day there’s a new stranger who has no idea what the hell they are doing poking and prodding and generally being useless. Last Friday, they only had one nurse for the entire building, which is two floors and probably 100 patients. If a corporate representative wants to comment on this and ask what you can do better, get back the people that have been caring for our loved ones and actually know what needs to be done instead of putting our families in the hands of strangers. That’s what you can do. Otherwise, don’t bother replying.

Brookdale Carmel is a great community for your loved one. They have the knowledge when it comes to dementia, great staff, beautiful community, and most importantly great care! Highly recommend.

I’ll be completely honest, we moved my mother in law here because it is close to our home (5 mins). Since she has moved in, we have not been impressed. We were told activities were “geared around all resident interest”. She is on the second floor and seems to be forgotten about when it comes to activities that take place on the first floor. If it weren’t for other family members she wouldn’t go to activities and since she had declined in mobility staff does not take her to activities. She has had falls since her arrival and facility has no interventions. We recommended things and the facility was more concerned with the tile in the bathroom than her safety. There are some great nurses and cnas. Weekends are lacking. In response to Brookdale. Why do I need to reach out to her POA? They aren’t in charge of her care you are. These are the concerns of both her medical and financial power of attorneys. These concerns have also been expressed to Brookdale. You won’t even allow her medical power of attorney who lives out of state spend the night with her mother. Why is that?
