BROOKDALE GARDENS OF TARZANA

Having fallen in my home last December, I came straight here after Five months in a hospital bed. To say I was nervous was an understatement. I was greeted with warmth and kindness and made to fill at home here. It’s hard to lose your home of many years and all its memories. The management here realizes that And make an enormous effort to let you know that this is your new home. And the people that surround you are now your family.

After touring several senior living communities (which can be quite a tedious process), my family and I decided on Brookdale Gardens of Tarzana for my aunt — and we’re so glad we did! The community is beautiful, always decorated festively for the holidays, and it smells pleasant every time we visit. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. They always greet us with a smile and a warm “hello” in the hallways, which really makes the place feel welcoming and homey. We’re very happy with our choice and feel confident that my dear aunt will be well cared for and able to age comfortably here for many years to come.

I rarely post reviews but my experiences with our loved one has been a struggle with a stroke. It’s been hard to find a place with caring staff and pricing that won’t kill you. The folks at Brookdale have been a relief. Her caregivers have been so patient with her and we’ve been grateful for updates and suggestions. Even when I’m at my most frayed they’ve been patient with her and our family and friends. I’ve been thankful to the leadership who’ve been quick to solve problems and handle complaints with such grace. It’s a god send and I’m thankful to them. We had her at another facility but it was getting stupidly expensive so thank you to the Brookdale folks.

I can’t say enough about how impressed I am with this senior community and the new leadership team. Since the new directors have stepped in, there has been such a positive shift—things are more organized, communication is clear, and the overall atmosphere feels warm and welcoming. The staff truly cares about the residents, and you can see that in the way they go above and beyond every day. The community feels vibrant, safe, and well-managed. The improvements in activities, dining, and overall quality of life for the residents are noticeable and appreciated. It’s refreshing to see leadership that is hands-on, approachable, and committed to making meaningful changes. I’m confident the community is moving in the right direction, and I’m grateful for the hard work and dedication of the team. Highly recommend this community to anyone looking for a supportive and caring place for themselves or a loved one!

I have always been impressed by the upkeep and appearance of Brookdale since before I moved my mother into this facility. The outside of the building is very well kept up as is the inside. They keep everything neat and smelling nice and it is in a great location. It is close to pretty much everything that someone would need. The staff once my mother has moved in has been very nice and helpful when needed. The dining area is very nicely made up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I love the fact that there is a hairdresser that comes in for haircuts and to do her nails if she wants. I normally take her out to get those things done but, I do like the fact that it is there for everyone to use. In the time that we have lived here we have been very happy with the staff and the location of Brookdale.
