BROOKDALE HARBISON

I had a very disappointing experience with Brookdale Harbison, largely due to the behavior of the administrator, Jessica. Over time, it became clear that resident care was not a true priority. When residents’ health declined, there was little to no visible involvement from her, but after residents passed away, she was suddenly present and personally involved in removing their belongings, which felt inappropriate and unsettling. I also witnessed and was made aware of serious professionalism issues. Concerns about harassment between staff were brought to management early in the day and were not handled properly, allowing the situation to continue. There also seemed to be pressure on employees to come to work even when they were sick, which raises concerns about safety and judgment in a care environment. Overall, the leadership felt negligent and unprofessional. Staff were spoken about openly to others, and communication often came across as dismissive and unapproachable. When concerns were escalated to higher leadership, excuses were made instead of accountability. For a facility entrusted with the care of vulnerable people, this was deeply concerning.

My mom has been a resident at Brookdale Harbison for over 3 years. The management and staff are wonderful. They have become family to us and we are so happy to have found this home for mom. I spend a lot of time there and just love the awesome community they have made.

I am extremely disappointed with the current state of this assisted living community. The high staff turnover is affecting the residents, leading to inconsistency in care and services. The leadership under the current Administrator is lacking, and the community just doesn’t have the warmth it once did. Many of the good managers who used to make this place feel like home are no longer here. It’s heartbreaking to see how much it has deteriorated. My family member, along with several other families, are now seriously considering moving to a different facility. This is not the community it used to be.

Brookdale at Harbison is a warm homey environment for my elderly father. He is well taken care of and thriving. The staff work as a team and are always willing to help out. I have peace of mind knowing that he is safe and in good hands.

Brookdale is a place where residents are well taken care of and feel safe and part of the overall family. Family members are welcomed and encouraged to participate in events with their loved ones. Everyone knows everyone and Brookdale's enviornment is one that is like a loving family who cares about each other.
