Brookdale Harrisonburg

As someone who works in the healthcare field, and who has also kept up with Brookdale Harrisonburg through a close friend, I have had the opportunity to see and hear how much things have changed under the new management. The difference is genuinely noticeable. Communication, organization, and most importantly the way residents are treated all seem to have improved significantly. It truly seems like people are being treated better and with more dignity and care than before. Michelle clearly takes real pride in her work. This is not just a job to her, these are people’s lives, and it shows in the way the facility is run and in how residents and families are treated. It is reassuring to see leadership that actually cares and takes responsibility for the well being of the people there. If you are looking for a place where your loved one will be treated with real care, respect, and compassion, this is absolutely a place worth considering.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Since Michelle arriving at Brookdale Harrisonburg, things have noticeably improved. Communication has been better, staff have been attentive and respectful, and the overall environment feels more organized and supportive than where I was previously. I feel more comfortable and better cared for here, and that has made a real difference in my day-to-day life. I called Brookdale Harrisonburg to explore assisted living options for my aunt. Even once it was clear their community wasn’t the right fit, Trey in sales still spent nearly 30 minutes educating me on how to navigate this unfamiliar process and sharing helpful contacts for my next steps. He knew he wasn’t gaining a sale, but he genuinely cared. I can’t speak to the facility itself, but if Trey is an example of the care their staff provides, families would be in good hands. A highly recommend that if you're searching for assisted living in the Harrisonburg VA area, make Trey your first call.

Brookdale is one of the most amazing Assisted living centers that I have worked with in my 17 years in healthcare! The people who live there are always happy, laughing and being taken care of by the wonderful staff! If ever my mother needed a place to stay, this would be her home!

I would describe Brookdale Harrisonburg and the staff as an extension of our family unit. It gives me great comfort to know that my Dad is in a safe and very well kept facility, but more importantly interacting with people everyday who truly care about him as a person. They treat him with such love and respect and really take a very personal interest in him. When Brookdale opened back up after the Pandemic, I asked my Dad if he was still happy there, his comment was "Brookdale is the perfect place for me. The care is excellent and the food and facility both are really well done. The staff takes great care of me". A strong testament to the Brookdale staff and administration is that during the year+ that my Dad lived there during the Pandemic, not once was I concerned about his care and welfare. I knew he was in a very safe place with a great staff. There is very little turnover of staff in this facility so relationships get built and become very strong over time. The Director and the staff are very responsive and also go out of their way to assist families and the residents. Our family has been a part of the Brookdale Harrisonburg community since summer of 2014. My Mother also lived there for a couple of years in Memory Care before her death and my feedback is the same for this unit-a family feel with a very caring and skilled staff. I highly recommend Brookdale Harrisonburg and have not thought twice about our decision to make this my parent's home. What I did not realize in this choice is that it would become more than a facility and a place to live, but as I said in the opening line of this review, it is an extension of our family unit. That gives us all great comfort and joy.
