BROOKDALE LAKE MARY

I have been here 6 months and I have had numerous problems with staff and care by same So have other residents. Disrespect and rudeness is in full view by many medical staff members. I am a retired multiple certified physician and surgeon and 78 years old Treatment here for. me is inadequate and noted inexperienced staff also.A disgusting situation as a medical person working with people for 60 years. Sometimes waiting for care after pressing call button for 2 hours and alerting again and being told now we are on a break for an hour and one half! Absolutely disgusting and I am paying an extra $650 per month to. Uncalled for situation in any case I hope other Brookdales are not like this! The administration is not giving residents respect for the elderly. I see it but most residents do not due to various circumstances like dementia or Parkinson disease or Alzheimers. I also have advanced degrees in Psychology to so I have an advantage for helping others This is now my home address and that is a worry for me and hopefully can help make improvements to. Considering what I have seen I have little hope of change realizing the mind set of administration and health directors and lack of COMPASSION for people here. Disgusting display and hurts my feelings about human beings Furthermore being talked down to as well as belittling occurring all the time by low IQ people here is very disconcerting. Especially from medically oriented staff! Enough! Dr. Stephen Bachove Additional information concerning food services here at Brookdale Lake Mary. Not good and for me and as expressed by others food not always edible and I find disgusting at times I have been told that this no way to treat the elderly! It is going down hill to. When decent no extras no doubles no getting 2 entrees.

Heard this place finally got rid of "The Warden" Michelle Gray. I hope now it will get an executive director that is loving and caring as the residents here deserve. I also hope Brookdale corporate comes in and gets rid of Carline and the roach infested kitchen that somehow always manages to pass health inspection.

My mom has been at Brookdale, Lake Mary over 3 years now. She is as happy there as she has ever been. She feels safe yet independent and in-control of her own life. Mom raves about the food too....says it is like her mom cooked :) Of course there were all the initial adjustments, but nothing that wasn't expected such as billing glitches. The leadership and staff truly do care and have tried to work with us on medication, finances, etc. to be as flexible as possible. Like anywhere, it would be lovely to have more staff, but wouldn't we all love that in every aspect of our lives!

My mom has received excellent care at Brookdale Lake Mary for the past five years. The staff is very caring, and are very accommodating to her needs. This facility and the residents all feel like family to us, and I greatly appreciate the support we have received there.

My mother has been here 3 weeks now. The staff is pretty responsive and kind. The place is not very clean though. My mom's bathroom floor was gross. The shared bathtub had a floor mat that was sopping wet when my mom needed it - gross!
