BROOKDALE ORMOND BEACH WEST

As an elder law attorney, I frequently hear from people how great their loved ones are treated at Brookdale West and other Brookdale communities. If you have a loved one that is suffering from memory loss, you can’t pick a more caring and clean community. I have visited Brookdale West many times over the years, and frequently refer people there.

Great staff who really care about the residents. It was cool to see that they strive to keep everyone engaged, not sitting around doing nothing. This is what memory care should be.

Initially we gladly gave Brookdale a 5 star rating, then we began to see the cracks in the machine. Medication errors, a caregiver that chose to ignore all the symptoms of a TIA, the food has deteriorated to inedible. The management was made aware on multiple occasions and the outcome was lip service and continued errors and attitudes. We moved both of our family members out this weekend and would like to apologize to anyone who put their loved one in this facility based upon our previous review.

You will be blindsided for they do not provide the care they promote. The nursing staff do not communicate with each other, it is all about money. I cleaned my husband's room more that once. The nursing staff do not communicate with the patient's family. Basically, it's all about money and filling those beds. The food is not that good and they don't have any regards to taking care of the patients. They love to Baker Act their clients since they don't know how to take care of them after they make a commitment to do so. Be Aware everyone..

Brookdale Ormond Beach West is an amazing facility. I have witnessed several times how caring and wonderful they are. They pride themselves on Patient Care, Elise the Nurse Manager has great way to be a leader and motivator to her team with expertise training in memory care patients. Todd is the executive Director he wonderful to work and has been in the business of caring for patients for decades. Brittany is one of the nicest young ladies I have met. She is willing to help you make the difficult decision easy. I highly recommend Brookdale Ormond Beach west!
