I unfortunately had to return here to update my review. To put it mildly, the memory care unit here is such a loss of the person’s dignity. The unit is called Flourish, however your loved one will do anything but flourish. I watched my mother steadily decline in this unit. I feel that the memory care unit is a place where people go waste away. I visited regularly and the residents were always sitting in an open area sleeping or staring at a television. I have rarely ever seen any physical or mental activities and my mother has never once left the facility unless I took her out. They share a list of daily activities yet these are never done. The one outing was cancelled and never rescheduled. The staff do the very least. I had to collect my mom’s laundry weekly just to ensure all of her items returned. I had to ask that her bathroom be cleaned pretty much every visit. My mom’s teeth were not brushed regularly. My mother stopped eating….the food was not appetizing at all. My mother went into a depression in this place and as her daughter, I feel terrible for putting my trust into these people. Staff isn’t happy and turnover appears high. Once I gave notice that I was moving my mother, getting return calls and email responses ceased. I had such high hopes for this facility but I never felt comfortable walking out the door each time. There are personal care nurses with some residents which makes no sense at all. Why should a family have to hire an outside agency to watch over the staff who are already being paid to care for your family member? If your loved one can’t take care of themselves in an assisted living unit and needs memory care, this is not the facility for them. Never a week that passed where there wasn’t an issue of some sort. My sister and I reached a point of exhaustion and simply made the decision to find a place where I felt she would really thrive, and so far so good. Found a residential care facility that is much smaller and personable and she is back to eating all her meals.

The Charter community of Pikesville is ALIVE! They keep their community clean and beautiful. Their staff members are hands on and attentive. You see smiles as you walk in the door. Their renovations are fabulous. I can’t say enough amazing comments about Charter Pikesville. I love it there!

As a Home Health Care owner, I frequently attend events at Charter Woodholme, and I’m always impressed by their strong sense of community and commitment to bringing people together. The staff is incredibly polite and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The residents are actively engaged in fun activities and truly seem to be enjoying life to the fullest. A wonderful place that genuinely cares about its community and residents! A special shout out to Karissa for taking pride in her job and doing it with excellence!

We all know moving an aging parent into assisted living is a big, emotional and sometimes stressful experience. But the staff ar Charter Senior Living at Woodholme Crossing has been very responsive and supportive for my mom’s needs, as well as providing all they can in terms of activities, as well as daily meals! We have felt welcome and cared for, as well as seen and heard if any needs/issues arrive. It’s all we want for my mom to be in a place that can feel like home.

We are so happy to have found Charter of Woodholme Crossing for our mother. She has adjusted very well and the staff are very welcoming and upbeat! Shout out to Cory, the maintenance director, for all his hard work and dedication to make our loved ones safe and well taken care of within their apartments. And Mike, the entertainment director, is a breath of fresh air. Darlene, the Executive Director, is on top of the facility operations - she even takes phone calls immediately which is not so typical of many assisted living facilities that my mother has lived. The nursing staff is very tentative to all the residents needs and the care givers are compassionate and have the patience needed for assisting with the aging residents. Thank you for everything, Charter! It is greatly appreciated. KH
