Very friendly environment. Individualized care is of great importance at Brookdale AL.

The staff at Brookdale are so kind and provide excellent care for their residents. There is always someone smiling to greet you at the door when you walk in. I highly recommend taking a tour if you or your loved one are looking for a warm, welcoming, assisted living environment!

My siblings and I looked at four places in the area before choosing Brookdale for my mom. I stop in several times a week to visit my mom which also gives me a chance to see the staff and aides in action and talk with them. They have all been friendly, kind, caring, and patient. We are happy we chose Brookdale.

I had to travel out of country for a couple of weeks and need a place for my mother to stay. Brookdale was the absolute best place for respite care. My mother can’t stop talking about how wonderful EVERYTHING/EVERYONE was.

My mother lived at Brookdale Portage for just over two years until her recent passing. Brookdale was a perfect fit for her, offering her activities that kept her active, busy and happy, and a cozy welcoming home. This was not my mother's first assisted living community and I know they are not all similar. Unlike before, we soon learned that Brookdale is all about care and respect, dignity and kindness. During the lockdown, the staff stepped it up to make sure residents could stay in touch with family via Zoom as well as continue activities and social events. At the point when my mother required more assistance, I watched the gentle and efficient care from the staff increase as well. My mother loved living in the Brookdale community and we all truly appreciate each of the hardworking and staff, knowing she was definitely in the best possible community.
