Brookdale South Charlotte

I went to Brookdale with my dad as we are looking for my uncle. It seemed nice there. I wish my uncle would move closer and if he does I think he would choose Brookdale. Ashley toured us and she was nice even answering my questions and concerns. The staff I got to meet were friendly. Residents were doing an exercise program and seemed to be happy.

Looking for senior living facilities for a family member isn’t easy. But Ashley was so knowledgeable and helpful. If we could convince my uncle to move closer to us we would be happy to have him at Brookdale South. The staff really seems to care about the residents and the residents seemed engaged while they was doing what they call b-fit. It’s a program Brookdale created to keep them exercising no matter what their mobility is. It was refreshing to even see the nurse (whose name I think was Precious) do some of the exercises with the residents. It made the residents smile seeing her exercise along with them. Deciding on an ideal facility for a family member requiring additional assistance can be challenging. Although we were initially hesitant, the past year has seen substantial improvements. Precious has been diligent addressing our questions and concerns regarding care quality. A noticeable difference is evident in the interactions between staff, patients and family members. Bridget in the business office is always pleasant and maintains a n excellent attitude when responding to billing and charges inquiries. I would also like to acknowledge ED Alain’s efforts in listening to and addressing my concerns. We have consistently received respectful and kind treatment from everyone! A big thanks to Brookdale South!!

In our experience, after my mom has been at 5 different places in another state, we have found Brookdale South Charlotte to be the MOST accommodating, the MOST caring assisted living facility of all of them. The executive staff have accommodated all of my mom’s needs and ours as well! One other thing we love about Brookdale South Charlotte besides the staff and Care Partners are the other residents and the resident activities coordinator!! My mom is wheelchair bound but even so, she is able to go on field trips out in the community once a week, because of the amazing wheelchair accommodating bus. Brookdale South Charlotte has made this chapter in my mom’s life, full of life and full of living life!

Very unorganized. Executive Director and Nurses only care about what makes them look good. When Understaffed or staff members needs assistance, management never helps, hardly can find a manger when needed. This facility solely cares about money. Allain- Executive Director, Precious & Kelsey- Nurse and Wellness Directors, & Bridget- HR refuses to go by the Brookdale Policies, only follows Policy when State and Higher ups are in the facility to save their own career and faces. Was told to give a resident their medication when past medication time, was also told “we give late medicine all the time.” - only 1 Med- Tech for the whole Assisted Living side so medicine is ALWAYS late and there is no resolution to the problem.
