My grandmother has been at Brookdale for around 2 years and I am very pleased with the staff due to awesome communication and support. When I came to give my review, I was shocked to see such negative reviews about some of the staff. Ive seen the staff that was mentioned go above and beyond for my grandmother and other residents. They were also the ones who held the place down through the transition. I was sad to see them slandered so badly! I hope that is all straightened out as they are wonderful assets to the company.

Brookdale is a great facility and I have been more than pleased with the care my grandmother has received. She has had nothing but good things to say about the care the staff provides for her and she enjoys the things the center does for her and the other residents. She recently told me about them bringing in Santa Claus for Christmas and how much it warmed her heart. She has told me about the aides and how they are all so caring and provide her with all of the things she needs. She said they are all so friendly and supportive and give her great care. I can’t thank the whole Brookdale staff enough for being there for her when we can’t.

John is an awesome employee and an outstanding kitchen manager. His leadership, consistency, and dedication truly make a difference every day. I also want to give a special shoutout to my favorite CNA, Ada she is compassionate, hardworking, and always goes above and beyond. Employees like John and Ada deserve far more recognition for the incredible work they do. They are truly appreciated!

Brookdale Senior Living raises grave and urgent concerns about the safety, dignity, and basic human treatment of its residents. What has been reported inside this facility goes far beyond isolated mistakes — it reflects a disturbing pattern of neglect, abuse, and leadership failure that places vulnerable elderly residents in constant danger. There are CNAs, including Shelly and Carol, who have reportedly made deeply dehumanizing and racist remarks toward residents, referring to them as “monkeys.” Even more alarming, Carol was reportedly responsible for the care of a resident who was left confined to her bed for extended periods without being turned or properly cleaned. This prolonged neglect allegedly led to a severe bedsore that contributed to the resident’s death. The fact that such an incident could occur — and that those involved reportedly remained employed — is horrifying and unacceptable in any care facility. In addition to neglect, there are serious reports of physical mistreatment. A CNA named Toi has reportedly popped or struck residents’ hands when they reach for objects. These residents are not being aggressive — many suffer from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and lack the cognitive ability to understand their actions. Physically striking or “correcting” cognitively impaired residents is deeply concerning and demonstrates a dangerous lack of compassion, training, and respect for resident safety. Rather than enforcing accountability, management reportedly allowed Shelly to remain employed under “light duty,” continuing to receive pay while residents continued to experience inadequate care. This response sends a clear message that resident well-being is not being prioritized. Additional concerns involve a CNA named Ada, who has reportedly eaten residents’ meals and delayed essential care until the very end of her shift. Residents are allegedly left sitting in wheelchairs for the entire 7–3 shift without being changed, despite being awake long before staff arrive. Leaving elderly residents soiled, uncomfortable, and ignored for hours is not merely neglect — it is inhumane. Although some CNAs genuinely attempt to provide proper care, their efforts are undermined by repeated failures within the nursing department. In one reported case, a resident lived with a broken hand for an entire week before any intervention occurred. Nurses, including Jamie, have reportedly failed to administer prescribed pain medication and neglected to enter physician orders, leaving residents to endure unnecessary pain and medical risk. What makes these reports even more alarming is that facility leadership is reportedly aware. The Executive Director, Natalie, and the Director of Nursing, Sherin, have allegedly been informed of these issues multiple times and have continued to allow the same individuals to remain employed. When leadership ignores repeated warnings, neglect and abuse become systemic. This facility urgently requires outside oversight, investigation, and immediate intervention. Families trust senior living communities to protect loved ones who can no longer protect themselves. Based on these reported experiences, that trust is being dangerously violated at Brookdale Senior Living. Immediate action is needed before more residents are harmed.

We just wanted to say how wonderful Brookdale Senior Living has been to my grandmother on her Birthday! All of the staff and management have opened their arms and their hearts and have taken wonderful care of her since her arrival and I did not want another day to go by and not give them a huge thank you for making her day a special day!
