Ana Guardado
Hi my name is Ana Guardado I am writing this to let you know of my disappointment on this facility, we put my Brother there for 3 weeks , but we took him out because of the lock knowledge and care for the patiences, My brother complain of the he will call for assistance when he had realy bad cough attacks, no matter how Manny times he push the bottom they will come 20 minutes later . The therapist will star session and cut them short for personal reasons, we ask many time that we needed to speak to the Dr that did visit that did not happened, we ask for an Eye Dr's that did not happened nor they help us as to how to get one in . My brother is been feed by a Peg tube in the stomach. and has a folly for the urine he had a realy bad infection and they did do the urine sample after they keep giving as excuse for everything. Ashly is the admission person they all luck of training and emphaty for those people who are there , they had and elderly person sitting in the hallway with blood on his clothes es clearly he had a lot of needs but because they don't attend to the patience in the room the put him in fromt of the desk were there was a person sittingbut she was sleep most of the time behind the desk. this gentleman will sit there for at least 12 hours on that chair in the hallway his feet were swollen, do the fact he was not moving from that chair. they did not allow railing on their beds even for people who were at risk of falling and hurting them self. This Facility is realy bad they lock of everything personal medication, and most of all they don't train the personal to deal with patience in kind way or knowledge. We decide to take my brother out because he was getting realy depressed crying all the time and feeling sick we had ask for a training as to how care for his feedings and could not get a proper training we had ask urine tests and results, ask to see and aye dr nothing. We took my brother out went directly to a Dr hi had bad UTI infection and Severed Eye infection now he is risk of loosing his aye because of this Facility. If you planing to put a family members here you should consider my review. God bless you.

I have very mixed feelings about Brookdale. Most of the daytime nurses and aides have been helpful and very kind to my mother, however there is not enough staff to adequately care for patients. Employees come in late or don’t come at all causing the hardworking employees to work extra long shifts and double the work resulting in decreased care. One morning I received a call at 8:00 telling me staff found my mom on the floor at 2:00 AM. Why did they wait that long to call me? When I got there, the nurse call button was not on the bed, indeed someone had taken it away from my mother and placed it on another piece of unreachable furniture. Mother developed sores on her lips from chapped lips and she told me one night aide wiped her mouth so hard she nearly pulled the scabs off. Another morning she told me that the night aide told her she was pressing the call button too much and she needed to stop. Every morning when I arrived she would say, “I don’t know what I did that was bad but the night aide was mad at me.” She’s 90 with dementia and deserves kinder treatment than that. Obviously the administration needs to do a better job of supervising and training night staff. It seems that when staff knows family members will be there patients get better care. The opposite should be true. I should be able to trust that when I cannot be there, my mom should be checked on and cared for better. One Saturday the AC wasn’t working. I asked about it for 3 hours and kept getting “I called the on call man but he doesn’t answer.” Mom’s room reached 80°. I finally called our advocate who made calls and magically the AC began working in under an hour. Having said that, the day nurses have been most kind and attentive and most of the CNAs on day shift have been kind with only 1-2 being abrupt and a bit rough. When we try to talk to someone in charge about these issues there never seems to be anyone on campus or available. The PTs and OTs have been absolutely amazing except for leaving her off the schedule one day. If one of my family members needs skilled nursing again, we won’t pick Brookdale Willowbrook.

**DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE** My mother was transferred here from the hospital to get Physical Therapy. She stayed less than 2 weeks before I pulled her out of there. The staff was nice the first day then things went downhill. My mom was left in a soiled diaper for over 12 hours & developed a UTI. The aids did not want to assist her with walking to the restroom so they made her go in her diaper several times & then did not change her often. The nurses took a long time to tend to my mom after pressing the nurse call button several times during her stay. I complained to the Executive Director several times. As she seemed compassionate while taking notes about my complaints, she still did nothing to resolve my moms issues. The Nurse coordinator lacks compassion & communication skills. Overall my mom had the worse experience of her life being at this facility. The only good person at this facility is the Physical Therapy Manager, she actually tried to help my mom with any issues that she had. ***STAY AWAY PLEASE PLEASE & PLEASE***

My mother recently entered into Brookdale after a fall. Mom has various health issues. I am so very grateful those taking care of mom. It is not easy and everyone that has helped mom has been so compassionate and thorough. Mom is clean and dry. They check and do not wait for mom or me to say something. I am eternally grateful to the staff at Brookdale. THANK YOU!!!!!

My mother was in rehab at this place recently. People were friendly, yet totally disorganized. Meals often came up to two hours later than the norm. They were often out of everyday supplies. They couldn't take her for physical therapy at first, due to lack of wheelchairs. I had to take one to her. Her meds came at all different times of the day. She was never sure if she was getting all of them. She was encouraged to stay in diapers because it's easier for the staff. They don't have enough man power to help the patients to the toilet. My Mom regressed being there. After being home a few days, she is back to being independent again.
