Our beloved mother, Teresa, was born in Ireland and emigrated to Missoula in her twenties, where she lived for nearly 70 years. Nine years ago, she moved into Grizzly Peak, an independent living facility in Missoula, and she absolutely loved the community. In March 2024, she fell and broke her shoulder. Due to her increasing memory loss and need for medical care, we transferred her to a memory care facility in Missoula. Unfortunately, we had a very negative experience there. Our niece Kara insisted on transferring mom to the Richardson Cottage at the Crossings Campus in Laurel, MT, a St. John's United community, where she had worked in high school. We transferred mom at the end of August 2024, and it was a blessing. The community embraced our mother, and we felt welcomed with open arms. My niece visited mom frequently, and as a family, we spoke with mom daily and visited her often. We got to know the caregivers, who treated all residents with love, kindness, compassion, empathy, and humor. They were competent and committed to their jobs and each other. Dave, the person responsible for the incredible culture at Richardson Cottage, is completely invested in its success and the well-being of the residents. As a retired HR executive, I can identify great leaders, and Dave is phenomenal. Caregivers often commented on how much they enjoy working for him. He supports their career growth and sets high standards. The staff respects him and goes the extra mile. As family members, we felt supported by Dave, who was quick to respond to our questions and genuinely cared about our mother. The caregivers are exceptional. While all did a fantastic job caring for our mom, a few who stood out were Zoe, Hanna, Katcha, Cory, Mary, Jennifer, Tim, Hanna, Steff, Wynter, Molly, Taylor, Morgan, Britnee, Lizzy, Austin, Dakotah, Alyssa, Ellie, Lily, Josie, Kylee B., Kylee E., and Aurora. Sadly, our mom passed peacefully on February 24, at age 96, after a couple of weeks on hospice. We miss her dearly. We are eternally grateful to Dave and the staff at Richardson Cottage for the outstanding care, love, and compassion they provided to our mother during the last seven months of her life. We are also grateful for the support they provided to our family. It was a pleasure to get to know Dave and the caregivers at Richardson Cottage. We know they will continue to provide excellent care to the most vulnerable residents.

Our mother and late father moved into the crossings 13 years ago and it's been such a blessing for both them and their children. It's so comforting knowing our mother is safe, comfortable, well nourished meals, great socialization and is very well cared for by the staff. My mother who is now 91, still has the benefit of cooking family meals and baking from her apartment which she loves. There is always entertainment going on, field trips to take, trips to Walmart and shopping, and usually a relaxing card game in the evening. It just seems the Crossings staff go out of their way to making their residents happy and secure. I would recommend the Crossings to anyone. .

We feel we know all about the Crossings when the people are mentioned at devotions and the memorial services at Chapel Court.
