My father needed skilled nursing as a terminal illness was taking his life. Everyone on the Canterbury nursing staff was wonderful to him and became his second family. They cared for him so well and were sensitive to his needs as his health declined. Even in his last days, they kept him comfortable and never gave up on him. The staff were very compassionate and caring as the cancer took my father. The Canterbury was a safe, caring home for my father as he lived out the last months of his life. I constantly thanked the staff for all the dedication and details that went into the large amount of care my father needed. I am so glad the Canterbury was available to my father because it would not have been possible to arrange the intense, 24 hour nursing my father required in his home.

Excellent facility for retirement, lots of activities.

The Canterbury has one big negative when visiting residents there. The lobby, fairly small, offers several comfortable chairs spread far apart, which are many times occupied by residents reading papers, but there is no area to sit down comfortably while seeing a resident for a little chat, like they provide at the Sunrise, for example, with a big lobby with sofas, comfortable chairs for a small gathering. Not every visitor is comfortable spending time with the resident at their apartment. Whoever designed this facility did not think of this comfort zone for both the resident and the visitor.

My mom lives here and just loves the place. Wonderful, caring people, great amenities and well maintained facilities.
