Capital Lakes has a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The fitness area and pool is my favorite part of my day. The best place I have been to that has pools and available times for people wanting to work out in the water.

I got to choose from three or four facilities in the Madison area to stay at for rehab after my spine surgery, and I chose Capitol Lakes due to the fact that my surgeons patients chose this facility quite often because they were aware of the surgeons protocol. I am 62 years old and I was three hours away from my family and would be rehabbing for 5 weeks. You hear a lot of bad things normally about nursing homes/ rehab facilities so I was not sure what to expect going through this as I knew the healing part of my surgery would be quite intense. All I can say is that the staff at Capitol Lakes were kind, friendly compassionate and always had a smile and their care was exceptional. They were Angels sent from God. I cannot say enough about the staff. The food was amazing. They had so many healthy options which I was thankful for. The only thing I was disheartened about was the quality of the bed and I am sure that is an issue with most facilities in the medical field. Thank you Capitol Lakes!!! Your HR hiring dept has done an A+ on the staff you have hired. Gail K

Our father has been a resident at Capitol Lakes for 6 years and absolutely loves it. The independent apartments have plenty of space and very nice kitchens. The staff has been just wonderful and so helpful, especially since I live out of town. The meals at the two restaurants are extremely good, not just ordinary diner food. The prices are very reasonable and I really look forward to eating there when I am visiting. There are also many many good programs in the evenings to take advantage of. We could not be happier with Capitol Lakes.

Capitol Lakes is a Continuing Care Retirement Center and offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and the Health Center that provides short-term rehab or long term care. I moved from a townhouse in Arizona to Capitol Lakes about five years ago and have no regrets. In no particular order, my favorite features of life at Cap Lakes are the downtown location near the Capitol, lakes, university and more; the evening programs often featuring live music; a wide variety of menu choices daily; an attentive staff and management; ever-changing art exhibits in addition to its permanent collection; and having about 200 neighbors for socializing.
