Cariad is not what we were told it was. My mother doesn't eat certain foods. We were assured they would have items for her to eat. They never had fresh fruit or vegetables. She has lived on items I ordered from Walmart. Not very healthy. On 5/22/23 we were told they are closing the facility and we had to be out by 6/22/23. Very stressful situation. This review won't help anyone in the future except that they have a parent company that still runs other facilities. Plano Op LLC. A management company SRI management Southwest. I will never do business with these companies. We also had problems with the director Seth Hodges. He was rude and had a short temper. Not good for elderly people. Most of the staff were wonderful. Especially the front desk and the medication nurses. They have to find new employment. Thank God we found a non-profit, faith based facility. I did not realize all the services that were missing at Cariad until I saw our new facility. I pray for all of those affected by this situation. God bless!!!

This is such an amazing facility I could have asked for a better facility for my dad. The staff goes out of their way to make sure to that their clients are well taken care of and they always are there for the families and give us peace of mine. Especially in this time with covid-19 still make sure that we get to talk to them. The staff even let the clients Skype with the family. This is such an amazing facility. I have never had another facility go out of their way to make sure I talked to my dad. Even though I live 3 hours away they still make sure I can see him even if it's through Skype. Words cannot express how much I am grateful for this place. It was the best decision my family made.

Cariad at Village Creek has been taking good care of my mom for 3 1/2 years. The facility has recently been refurbished and a new memory care unit at or near opening. The caring, competent, and cosmopolitan staff are responsive to requests for assistance and have successfully limited COVID-19 risk at the facility.

Amy Armistead is a trusted friend who began working for Cariad Plano and spent time with us getting to know our Mom /Aunt and tour their options for us to see if their care would be a good fit for everyone. (Call Amy if you or your family member (or parents, they offer couple living) has a need too... she is THE BEST.) All of us loved their newly renovated place and she decided to move in Dec/Jan 2020. She has found Cariad to be the perfect fit for her because actually prefers to “having her own space” and yet needed the extra assisted living support (may need memory care soon) and didn’t want us or a stranger to hover over her. She also values having a very clean room all the time, laundry services and her own kitchen for snacks or easy meals she can make in her apt. We are wwwwaaaaaayyyyy less worried about her that now that it is easy for her to enjoy regular nutritious (and tasty) meals, ensure she takes her medicine correctly (delivered to her daily with oversight from a full-time nurse on staff), and she now has plenty of interaction with other people (pre-COVID). She’s very social. Although Covid protocols have been difficult on everyone, most especially residents in assisted care of any kind, Cariad seems to have taken all the precautions necessary and I appreciate that they communicate regularly about their status. Fortunately, as of the time of this post, I’m not aware of any residents in their Plano or McKinney homes having contracted COVID. The new leadership/owners and all of their caregivers are all amazing ... making Cariad a very special place for a rather amazing price. We highly recommend that you interview with your family member/s and Amy to see if they would be a fit for you too (we would love to have more friends to join to for our Mom/Aunt to enjoy getting to know).

We moved our mother to this facility in April, 2016. We liked the fact that it was small and we really liked the staff. Since then, the staff has dwindled down. There is no longer a nurse, an activity director or maintenance person. They have locked all of the doors so that everyone has to enter and exit through the front door. The cook doesn’t always stay to cook dinner. All of the things we liked have disappeared.
